Freddie's P.O.V
I felt someone walk in mine and Jim's room, I looked up and saw Rosalie at the foot of our bed. I looked over at the clock to see it was 2:00 in the morning, "Betee? What's wrong darling?" Rosalie looked down sheepishly, "can I sleep with you?" I smiled and moved over, "of course, come here darling," Rosalie layed next to me and snuggled up to my chest, I wrapped my arms around her and ran my fingers through her hair, "Are you alright Betee?" I asked gently and Rosalie nodded, squeezing me tighter, I smiled slightly, we stayed that way for a while, Rosalie snuggled against my chest as I rubbed her back, until she looked up at me, "Papa?" I looked down at her, "what is it love?" Rosalie took a deep breath, "I lied to you," I raised my eyebrows slightly, "about?" I said gently, "I'm not alright," I pulled her hair out of her face, "what's wrong?" Rosalie took a deep breath and put her head back down, "I can't stop thinking about how Brian and Anita brought Josephine home." I furrowed my eyebrows confused, "what about it?" Rosalie didn't answer, so I sat up and brought her to a sitting position, so she was facing me on the bed, "answer me Rosalie," Rosalie looked close to tears, "it's just, Brian already has kids and it remimds me of mom, she's going to have a baby, and yet she doesn't even try to come see me," I understood now, she was upset about Mary having another baby. "Your mother loves you Betee," Rosalie shook her head, "you think that's love?" I nodded, "yes I do," I said. "Then why did she leave?" She said a little louder, "you don't know what you're talking about," but Rosalie wasn't finished, "if she loved us so much, why wasn't she here?" I looked over at Jim who was still sleeping, "she tried-" Rosalie interrupted me, "she wasn't here! She was never fucking here! She left!" She was practically screaming now and I was shocked, Jim woke up abruptly. "Rosalie!" I snapped but she continued, "she didn't love me, and she sure as hell didn't love you," I slapped her across the face, and I immediately thought about the party where I had done the exact same thing, only this time Rosalie didn't flea, she stayed right where she was, "Jim please give us a minute," I said quietly, Jim nodded looking confused as ever. But he left. "I do not ever want to hear you say anything like that ever again do you hear me? There were reasons why your mother left and there were reasons why I took you and your mother didn't." Rosalie was close to tears, "what reasons, what reasons were good enough for her to leave me! And now she's with some bastard who got her pregnant and she's having another baby, Papa can't you see how awful that is?" I softened my expression as tears started to slip from her eyes, I pulled her to my chest and she broke down sobbing, I hadn't thought Mary's new baby had affected her this way. "Sshhh, it's alright my love," I soothed trying to calm her down, "no it's not," she replied still crying. I stroked her hair and waited for Rosalie to stop crying, eventually she did and I turned her to face me, I wiped her tears off her red puffy face and kissed the cheek I had slapped. "I'm sorry Betee, are you alright?" Rosalie nodded, "I deserved it," she said quietly, "Rosalie your mother didn't have enough money to take care of you, she was flat broke working at a clothing store to make money, she couldn't take care of you on her own." Rosalie sniffles, "but why did she leave you," I smiled amused, "because I'm gay darling," Rosalie laughed a little bit and wiped her eyes, I pushed her hair back, "do you understand?" I asked gently, Rosalie nodded, "come here my love it's tome for bed," I layed back down and Rosalie took the position she was formerly in, I called jim back in and held Rosalie close.Rosalie's P.O.V
I woke up late in Freddie's bed the next day, he wasn't by me and neither was Jim which surprised me. I got out of bed and went into the kitchen, I saw Jim making breakfast and Freddie was reading the morning paper at the table. Freddie looked up and smiled when he saw me walk in, "good morning my dear," he said warmly, I smiled, "morning papa," I gave Freddie a kiss and sat next to him. Goliath jumped up and curled on my lap. Freddie looked at me. "No cats at the table Betee," I gave him my sad eyes. "But papa, Goliath never cuddles with me," Freddie had an amused look on his face. "Very well, but just this once." Our front door opened and someone rushed in. Freddie looked up alarmingly only to see that it was Roger. "Freddie I need your help." He said with a worried look in his eyes. Freddie put down his paper, "what is it Rog?" Rogers son, Felix walked through the door, "can you watch him, I need to take Dominique to the hospital." My heart dropped. Hospital? Dominique had to go to the hospital? My aunt Dominique, the one who taught me how to braid hair and how to flirt, and the one who was there for me when I first got my period, was going to the hospital. Freddie looked worried, "is she ok?" He asked concerned. Roger ran his hands through his hair, looked like he hadn't gotten any sleep all night, "I don't know Fred," Roger leaned down to Felix and told him that he would be back, Felix didn't like that though, he began to cry, and held onto his shirt "daddy I don't want you to go." Roger tried to take Felix's hand off of his shirt but he wouldn't budge. I placed Goliath on the floor and walked over to Felix. I picked him up and managed to detach him from Roger, he gave me a sympathetic look and told the crying boy he loved him and that he would be back soon. I sat with Felix on the couch, he was fussing and crying. "I want my momma," he wailed. I held him close, "I know," Tiffany strolled by and jumped right next to us, Felix stopped crying and started sniffling, "do you like the kitty?" I asked quietly, nodding Felix reached out to pet her. Tiffany hissed and was about to claw him but I put my hand in the way instead of his, causing Tiffany to scratch me instead, Felix started crying again and Freddie was up in an instant, he picked up Tiffany and started scolding her leading her to the other room. My hand started to bleed but I bit back the pain, "that wasn't very nice was it," I asked Felix pretending to look offended, I hid my hand so he wouldn't see it. "Why do you think she did that?" I asked him, he shrugged rubbing his eyes, "did she think you were a dog." Felix stopped crying for a minute and gave me a funny look, "I don't look like a dog!" He exclaimed. I smiled, "what? I thought you did," Felix giggled a little bit, "I do not," he said again his eyes drying up. "Well then what do u look like?" I asked, " I look like a man!" I laughed and Felix blushed, "what?" He asked innocently. I shook my head, "nothing honey, do you want to pet a nicer cat?" Felix nodded and I called over Oscar, the fat cat trotted over to me and Felix. I petted him to show Felix it was ok and he reluctantly pet him. Felix climbed off of me and got onto the floor with Oscar. I took the chance to get up and go to the sink to wash off my hand, "your very good with children," Jim said from behind me. I nodded as the cool water hit my aching hand. Freddie came in a minute later and began fussing over me, "papa I'm ok," I said pulling my hand away, but Freddie wasn't having it, he grabbed my hand slapped it softly to stop me from moving, "stop that," he said sternly as he looked at the claw marks. I rolled my eyes, "watch your attitude," Freddie said. The phone rang, and I heard Jim pick it up, Freddie gently placed a bandaid on the cuts and swatted me affectionately telling me to go back to Felix. I obeyed and found him still petting Oscar. Smiling I sat next to him, and tried not to think about my Aunt Dominique.*three hours later*
Bad news. The thing no one believes in until it comes, and the thing no one wants to hear. It came racing like a race horse.
I was sitting on the couch watching the news with Freddie when Roger came in, his face stained with tears. Felix was up taking a nap and immediately Freddie looked at me and told me to go to my room. I argued but he gave me a look that stated he was not going to deal with disobedience. Sighing I gave in and walked up the stairs, however I wanted to hear what was going on so instead of staying upstairs I quietly crept back down. "What stage?" I heard Freddie ask. "I don't know," Roger replied quietly, I heard him sniff. I lost track of what the doctor said after he told me." I furrowed my eyebrows, told him what? "I just can't believe it," Roger went on, "my Dominique has breast cancer."Hello dears! It has been a while hasn't it! I'm back and better as ever, I missed u all so so so much! And I am so excited for the next chapter, let me know what you think! Love you dears. Love you Freddie❤️
