Barry closes his eyes, her laughter still lingers after five years. He mocks himself for being so lost in the middle of the crowd. the elite crowd that was told to gather in honor of him and yet all he hears and think of is her. The laughter still continues when he opens his eyes.

He tried to look around and found no one. his heart is beating fast... impossible. he's been around the world, but found none. you can't find someone if they are hiding. he slips the crowd and went up to the VVVIP area to look for his gem in the middle of haystacks. Else, he will call it a night after announcing his possible engagement.

His possible engagement is actually more of a business deal and he does not care. he has done caring and it took him nowhere. more logical outcomes can be acquired with this possible union. outcomes that he can control.

he drinks the remaining whiskey and checks the crowds below. All of these people are here to ask for his graces he grimace, very predictable and he is getting tired of it.

its been almost four years since he took over their businesses. just like what analysts have predicted, he brought their businesses to new heights. he is more asstute and cunning than his father.

he never did agree with his father's decisions. there was a silent reconciliation when he agreed to handle the reign of their businesses. but when he took over, he made sure that decisions will be coming from him and him alone.
his father was contended, even though he did not agree with him he knew that his time has ended. over.

the only satistafaction he had was that he was able to fullfill his uncle's request, that is to reconcile with his father. Now, his relationship is almost okay.

then he saw her. in the arms of another man.

then he felt two arms encircling him from behind.

"hi hon, what are you doing here alone?"

he ignored her and asks, "who is that man behind Mr Tan?"

"that is Jacques, he is a philantrophist and french businessman"

"he is into shipping. ports in India, Turkey, UK and Spain are his balwarts"

Iris chuckles, "yes he is"

at least he confirmed that he is not married.

"do you want me to introduce you?"

that is the only time Barry turns his head. Iris was able to capture his lips. She wipes Barry's mouth with her thumb. "Gotcha" she answered. but Barry is in no mood to play along..
he walks taking the hands of Iris.

Jacques is annoyingly persistent in asking her to go out. He is good looking, has a good sense of humour and the people she loves likes him.
she does not want to hive him false hope but he keeps on pestering her to go out on a date. Kim advised her about why nots. later on she said to herself, why not. who knows. she's been burnt when she just let her heart decides. then again, why not. she deserves a good company and its been ages since she went out.

She was asked by Jacques to be his date for today's event. she was told that the ambassador is throwing a party to the new business ventures of his would be son in law, and that is rumoured that their engagement is going to be announced tonight.

she avoided this kind of parties for years. but for tonight what are the chances of meeting the man she hates? she is in another country, Singapore. sorrounded by french. what are the chances. "Ambasaddor" called Jacques. "congratulations in advance"

"My pleasure to met you milady" said the French Ambassador as he kisses the back of her hand.

"The pleasure is mine Ambassador" Yaya replied with a smile.

"Daddy" Iris called as she walks to them.
