Changing Gears

Both of them were silent, Barry was patiently waiting for the response of Mrs. Caparas, the aunt of Ms. Sperbund.

"I hope you understand, i have my lawyer here to document and witness evrything" and looks at Atty Sal and then continued to look the ilder woman in the eye   "to show you my intention to help your niece. I am just carrying out the final request of my uncle. That is to take care of Ms Sperbund."

"Yaya and Tony are the the children of my one and only sibling, their mother. I've seen them grow and... now thus happened" the older woman bows her head feeling helpless.

"My purpose is to help your niece and nephew. Atty. Sal.." Barry looks at his lawyer. This prompted the lawyer to present the documents he have prepared.

"The property I've bought is just two hours away from here, and a few minutes drive from the hospital. You can stay there ot visit her." He said

Then Atty. Sal spoke, "since she is still  in coma, proper care must be given to her. There will be a stand by Nurse to look after her, and a nanny to your nephew."

Barry added, "I will personally check them regularly to ensure that they are well. I am giving you my number so that you can directly call me."

"Tony will be enrolled in the nearest school inside the subdivision "

"Thank you for your generosity but..."

Barry mentally prepares himself just in case Ms Sperbund's aunt answered no. Fulfilling his uncle's last request means the world to him.  He needs to convince Mrs. Caparas.

"How long will your generosity lasts? The doctor can't give any definite date" her aunt inquired.

"Mr. Kugimiya also covered that one, that is to assist them until Ms Sperbund is awake and able." Said Atty. Sal.

"Since Tony is a minor, i would also like to sign and act as co-gaurdianship."

"I want the best for my niece and nephew..."

"As promised, i will look after them. Mrs Caparas, you can also move in with them and i will help you transfer your business there if you want to.." said Barry.

Atty. Sal know that Barry is now losing his patience, because his hands are fidgeting. they've been running in circles. He looked at Barry and give him a stern look.

Barry caught what his lawyer meant and give him a scuff.

Ditas failed to see what was happening between the two men.

"I can' do that. This is the house built by my husband with his two hands. Literally. She said melancholicaly.".

Barry, remained silent... thinking of other means to convince her..

"I agree..."

Barry leaned in forward to her the older woman.

"I agree with this set-up, however..."

Nomatter what the condition is Barry is willing to give.

"I can sense that you are a good man and responsible. You are still following the advise of your uncle wven if he is not around anymore. I agree on one condition."

Atty. Sal crosses his arms, waiting to hear something...

"I want you to stay with them everyday. To make me ease my worry"

Atty. Sal butted in, "Mrs. Caparas, Barry is a very busy man, but he promised to check out on them everyday..."

Mrs Caparas lower her head..

"If that is what you want, I agree..." Barry answered.

Atty. Sal was surprised with Barry.

Mrs. Caparas cried after hearing those words with Barry. This makes her assured that her niece and nephew will be properly taken care of.

Barry smiled.

Atty. Sal was surprised, and questioned why Barry agreed. This contradicts his lifestyle, to take care of that woman and his younger brother. He didn't see it coming. Atty sal smiled unto himself. Barry is now changing his gears.
