“Can you repeat what you have just said”

“All I am saying Kim is if you can just send the plans for me”

“That is not what I wanted to hear girl, the one that you’ve mentioned after that”

“I can do video call”

“Yaya!”

“Okay, I can’t go out of the country, Barry just got here”

“What the hell Ya! Am I just missing something here? The Barry you were talking five years ago was the same Barry Kugimiya of BKK? The Barry who left you because of Henry?”

Yaya cringed at Kim’s face while doing their regular video call.

Then from the video she heard Mark’s voice.

“Honey, Who are you talking to?”

“This girl from Norway!”

Then Mark’s face appears on her computer screen.

“Hi there Ya. Have you told her? Mark asks Kim, but only got cold shoulders.

Mark just smiled at Kim, his wife is again acting cute. He knows with that kind of face, she was not able to convince Yaya to do something and for him to find out.

“Mr. Li was able to introduce us to a Malaysian business man, Mr. Kouk and it so happen that right there and then he gets our services to re-design his hotels in Malaysia and Vietnam.  Not bad right? After dropping BKK, this is bigger if not better, really challenging. What do you think? We have set a meeting this Friday. I’ll let our secretary, arrange your air flight. See you back here okay?”

Yaya can see Kim’s eyebrow goes up and smirk, her facial expression says it all. For her to explain again to Mark.

“Mark, since it is just initial talk can we just do a conference call.”

“Ya, I think you’ve misheard me. Its already in the bag. We might already sign the contract once we are in Malaysia. I’ve just did a review and revision. Based from my discussion from Mr. Kouk’s Vice President for Operations, he is already okay with it. It is just a formality”

“Mark, I can’t for the meantime. Can we re-schedule it?”

Mark was silent.

“Okay tell me, what is your reason. Better be good.”

“The father of my child is here. I just can’t leave.”

“He found you?”

“yes”

“and?”

Mark has witnessed what Yaya has been through. Her couple friends were so supportive of what she’d been through, as a friend, as business partners.

“we’re back together.”

“Just like that?” Mark asked

“exactly my point” added Kim.

“What are his plans? He is there to take the kid after what happened? You can always bring Henry, you always do.” Explained Mark.

“Ya, Mark and I both witnessed what you’ve been through. You’ve come a long way. When we advised you to date, date someone who can stand by you and never leave you. Date a reputable guy. You are intelligent woman. You can easily charm guys like Jacques, who can take care of you.”

“Since when did you started seeing him?” said Mark

“almost two months ago”

“and what are your plans?”

“we are taking things slow”

“Ya, that is what you’ve exactly said to me five years ago” Kim shakes her head.

“If he got no plans for you and Henry, I suggest you better go ahead with your previous plans. It took you a lot to build who and what you are right now, don’t just stop just because”

“Honey” Kim holds Mark’s arm, “are you not going to ask who Henry’s father is?”

Barry was looking for Yaya, when he woke up she was nowhere to be found inside her room. He never had a full night rest for as long as he can remember. He needs Yaya for him to sleep tight.

He walks slowly to his son’s bedroom, his son is still sleeping.

He heard someone from the kitchen, Yaya and Aunt Alma might be there.

Towards the kitchen, he passed through Yaya’s office space.

Without any intention of eaves dropping. He overheard Yaya, must be about work. Its afternoon now in Bangkok.  Then the question about future plans and his intention towards Yaya came up. This is definitely not work and it seems they are ganging up on Yaya.

Then he purposely enters the room.

“Babe?” he asked

Yaya turned around and saw Barry.

Mark’s and Kim’s face was plastered on the screen, jaws on the floor.

He went to Yaya and kisses her forehead.

“I’ve been looking for you”

When Yaya returned to the screen, the two already regained their composure.

“I am with my partners, You know Mark and Kim”

“Good morning guys, or good afternoon in Bangkok”

“Mr. Kugimiya” said Mark

“Call me Barry” he answered. “How are your guys”

Mark replied, “we are doing good. We are talking about our schedule and plans for the future”

“oh Business. I am not going to keep you now then. But don’t keep her long okay” he said to Kim and Mark.

“See you at breakfast” and placed a kiss on Yaya’s lips.

The couple from the other side of the world, did not talk until they saw Barry left the room.

“That is Mr. Barry Kugimiya right?, The Kugimiya?” Mark asked

“Yes” Yaya answered

“The father of Henry? He asked again.

Yaya just nodded.

“My stand will still be the same “ said Kim. He may be the Barry Kugimiya but is it for real now? Or will he keeps you again as his mistress? He has a fiancée right?”

“According to him, he was not and is not engage to anyone”

“When will you be here?” Mark asked

“give me until Wednesday to decide”

“Okay” Mark replied

“Ya, you know we love you. We support you with your decisions as long as you are happy and that guy does not hurt you again. If you are sure.. ”

Barry stayed a little longer and did not fully leave. He heard the conversation. He never thought or intended that other people sees Yaya as his mistress. She never was and she will never be. come to think of it he never get to know much about the people that sorrounds her. they have no common friends. this is seeing their relationship in another perspective. his initial plan was to get her back to his life. He got other plans. This time he is going to fast track.
