2 Become 1 (Nadech and Yaya)

I am Barry

I hear voices.. Aunt Ditas.. and another woman.

I tried opening my eyes... and am blinded by light...

The woman with gentle voice called my name...

"P'Yaya!"

I looked at her, and tried to smile a little. I tried to voice out, and almost in a whisper "I am thirsty."

Aunt Ditas immediately stand up from her seat...

"Yaya!" She is crying..

The woman introduce herself, "Hi Yaya, welcome back." She said smiling.

"I am Thelma, your bedside Nurse"

"I am going to call Dr. Lino to check on you before we give you anything.."

I tried to nod.

Aunt Ditas is still crying.

My whole body aches and i feel weak. I feel something heavy on my legs. I was told by Thelma that my right leg is casted.

Dr. Lino lastly checks my eyes and my toungue. We tried to do the body movements he asked me to do.

Then I see him smile.

And in a whisper i asked him, "am i going to live doc?"

Doc Lino answered me with a smile. "You've been through a lot, physical pain that is. You've come a long way. Of course, only if you will follow my orders"

I nod and smiled at him. I look at my aunt and asked for Tony.

She said, "he is with Barry fixing that old car"

My forehead creases... and saw a man who i think in his early 20s gaping at me.

A middle aged lady named Dalia called his attention and asked him to call Barry and Tony.

Thelma, by then give me a glass of water. The water fkowing inside my throat felt so good. I asked for more,

Dr Lino just nods encouraging Nurse Thelma.

I was able to drink four glasses of water.

Dr Lino advises me to takenit easy on my solids and gives me a soft diet.

Looking around the room, i know that  this is a hospital suite. I immediately calculated the cost.

I asked, "where is this place"

My Aunt answered, this is "Barry's house. You and Tony are staying here for almost 7 months"

So this is not a hospital, but a room that was set up like one.

Then we heard someone running.

Tony.

"P'Yaya" he whispered "P'Yaya" he called again in a louder voice. He runs towards me ang gives me a hug.

I heard my aunt says for Tony to be careful.

I don't care. I miss my brother.

"I missed you" he said crying.

"I missed you to gummy, i love you" i said.

He just cried embracing my stomach.

"Does it still hurt?" He said

"Not anymore" i've answered.

"Have you been good, while I am asleep"

Tony looks at me and just nods.
"Barry said, young man like me should be good"

Dr. Lino, then fixes his things and gives some orders to Nurse Thelma.
He was about to leave when tje woman named Dalia advised him to wait for Barry.

I closed my eyes and silently think of my debts. I can't help it. If I am asleep for 7 months then my debts might habe ballooned 3x.

My anxiety might have caught the attention of my aunt.

"You don't have to worry about anything," she said " it's been taken care of by Barry."

That name... Barry. It seems like people around here can't function without him.

From my perspective, no matter what angle i look at our situation .. its seems i owe him bigtime.

The door suddenly opens.

A  man probably on his late 20s or early 30s comes inside.

Her forehead creases, she can hear her heart beat. Her hands feels cold and seems like there is something in her stomach...

She wonders if this is the effect of medication given by her doctor or by the man who was standing near the door, looking sharply at her.

He bring himself towards her without leaving her eyes.

"Hey" he said.

His voice sounds familiar.

"I am Barry"
