Taken Away

Tony gets some tools from their basement and asked Henry to wait for him in their garage.  When he peeks through window overlooking the garage to look for his four year old nephew, he found none.

Tony’s brows creased, the boy was unusually silent. Both of his mother and sister went out to buy some groceries and was tasked to look after their little boy this got him a bit worried.

He shouted, “Henry” but got no response.

He went out and called again, “Henry” and when he comes out he saw Henry in front of their lawn looking at someone. .. it’s P’Barry

“P’Barry” he said as he went closer to Henry.

Tony immediately holds Henry on his shoulder.

“Do you know him?” the boy asked.

“Yes” Tony answered.

“P’Barry, P’Yaya and my mother are not around”

Barry failed to answer, he is looking at the boy intently..

Tony immediately feels that his nephew was afraid because he tried to hide at his back. He sits down to meet the gaze of the boy.

“he is my friend and your mommy’s too”

The boy then looks at him

Tony let Barry in.

“P’Barry this Henry, my nephew. Henry this is P’Barry”

P’Barry sits down, to eye level with the boy. he can closely look at him. For some unknow reason he felt a punch on his guts. So many things went through his mind.

“Hi, Henry” he is refraining himself to touch the boy

“is that your car?”

“yes, do you like it?”

The boy  just crumpled his nose. “is it fast?”

“Well it can be… “

“faster than uncle Juaquin’s red BMW car?”

Barry’s jaw automatically clenched, so this kid knows Juaquin. Did his head of security failed to know the status of Yaya’s relationship with this Juaquin.

“My Mercedes is reliable and it never fails me”

“Really?” said the boy.

Tony and Barry shares a chuckle.

“What are you doing?” asked Barry

“Henry and I was about to check my car?”

“want me to take a look at it?”

“well…”

Henry just grabs Barry’s hand and takes him to their garage. There Barry sees the grayish blue 2003 Ford Mustang GT of Henry

“You chose well” that earns Tony a slap on his back. Tony smiled from ear to ear. Barry’s complements means a lot to him. 

It took him sometime to understand on why they left P’Barry. He thinks he understood everything when he learned that his sister was pregnant and P’Barry does not want his nephew. He made a vow to get back at this man who hurt his sister and his nephew. When he was given the opportunity. He manned up. He already gave him a good punch in the face and that felt so good. But all the bottled up emotions and grudges was gone when he embraced him again and found out that he knows nothing about his son.
