Chapter Twelve: Arm Socket Joe

It was your first time in space, and a younger, more ten minutes ago you would've been in awe, holding Spinel tight and having a hickey on your neck from those 'kiz-sing' techniques. But you weren't. And you might never be.

But, it helped that Steven was making sure not to leave your sight, and reassuring you every five minutes that Spinel would be alright.

"Alright, so how do we plan on finding this 'Oops' gem?" Pearl asked, making sure to include finger quotes on Oops. "Well, she's associated with this weird symbol." You finally spoke up, your voice raspy and scratchy from not talking for a while. You cleared your throat, and continued.

"It looks kind of like a chunky 'Y', and it was on her gloves too. It was also on—" You started, then gasped. "The sticky note!" You cried. "What sticky note?" Steven and Pearl asked in sync.

"Today, when me and Spinel were heading to your birthday party, we opened the door, and there was a yellow sticky note on the door with the same symbol on it! Oh my god, it's all my fault!" You shouted, threatening to lose your composure.

"Y/N, you couldn't have known. None of us could have, except..." Steven said, then turning to Garnet. "Garnet, did you see any possible outcomes like this today?" He asked her. 

"There was only one remotely close to this one. And it didn't have her in it." Garnet spoke, not breaking her calm demeanor.

You sighed and visibly drooped. "Wait, what the heck is that?!" Steven suddenly shouted, knocking you out of your thoughts. 

You looked out the window of the ship, and there was a large, green, industrial looking building that had the same symbol on it.

"I think we just found our ticket to Spinel!" Steven grinned. "That's the exact same symbol!" You cried, feeling tears pour out of your eyes. But these weren't tears of sadness, these were tears of joy.

"S...R...S..." Amethyst read off the side of the building. "What the heck does that mean?" She asked. "Who cares?!" You cheered. "Let's go get my waifu!"

"Your what?" Pearl asked.

After you guys stealthily parked your ship (thanks, Peridot, for stealth mode), you crept over to the building and peeked from behind a wall. There were two spinels with stern expressions on their faces, holding spears. They looked to be guards of some sort.

"There's guards...we must be very careful." Pearl warned quietly. "I say we just beat 'em up while we have the chance!" Amethyst whispered back. "No." Garnet said. "Maybe we can trick them into letting us in?" Steven suggested.

"Mmm...maybe." Pearl replied, mumbling absentmindedly. "How are we gonna do that?!" Amethyst whispered back to Steven. 

"Maybe we could pretend like we captured a human!" Steven whisper yelled. "Well, who's gonna be the—" You started. "You!" Amethyst replied with a grin. 

You sighed. "Life's never dull with you guys, eh?"

Steven folded his shirt up to expose his gem, and then Garnet unfused into Ruby and Sapphire. "Ready?" Ruby asked Sapphire. She nodded. 

The gems wrapped their arms tightly around you, and you pretended to struggle.

The guards immediately turned their attention to you guys, giving a curious expression. "We've brought a human with us to donate to your...building!" Pearl shouted. "You'll never take me alive, you damn dirty gems!" You cried, keeping your fake struggle up.

The spinel guards looked at each other, then burst out laughing. "A human? Really?" The pink spinel chortled. "You've gotta be kidding me!" The blue spinel wheezed. 

You all looked at each other awkwardly.

"Sh-Should we just take her anyways, turn her into a soldier?" The pink spinel asked with mock interest. The blue one cracked up at this. "I mean, what'll we even call her? Arm Socket Joe?" The pink one added, resulting in a ridiculous fit of laughter and you feeling quite offended.

They wiped tears from their eyes, and then quickly resulted back to their stern, guard-ly nature. "You're still here?" The pink spinel asked sarcastically. "We don't take humans, so just get out of here, you stupid rejects." The blue spinel explained with much sass.

Pearl scoffed, but held her tongue.

Everybody was thankful for that.

Then, she whispered something to Amethyst. She nodded with a determined expression on her face. What were those two doing?

"Very well, we shall take her awa—wait, did I just see your commander poof from that hole in the wall?!" Pearl shouted. The spinel guards cried out in alarm, quickly pressing a button and unlocking the door. But before they could question, Amethyst tied them up in her whip and smacked them straight into this big ass rock, poofing them instantly. 

"Nicely done, Amethyst." Pearl complimented. "Heh," Amethyst said, dismissing it with a wave of her hand. 

"Come on, let's go!" You cried, rushing inside. But what you all saw once you guys got into the room shocked you to your very core...
