Chapter Three: Why Don't You Take A Trip?

You were lazily curled up in your bed, the comforter feeling like pure bliss. The golden rays of the sun were shining through the blinds, casting its light on your face. But you were so tired that you could really care less. 

At least, until you heard the annoying chime of your cellphone. 

You groaned, and answered the phone. "Yeah?" You said. "Hey, Y/N!" You heard Steven's voice cheerfully reply. 

"Oh, hey, Steven!" You said, perking up immediately. "I was going to get something to eat. Wanna come with?" He asked you. 

"Yeah! Yeah, I'll be ready in a couple minutes." You said. "Kay." He said, hanging up. 

You got up, and then quickly fell down again due to not standing up for hours. You chuckled, and got back up again, this time bracing yourself against the bedpost. 

"Ah...I'm such a loser."

You were waiting by the boardwalk, where you and Steven had agreed to meet over text. You looked at your watch. Ten minutes had passed. Where was he? 

Suddenly, you felt a tap on the shoulder. 

You turned in that direction, but there was nobody there. And just as you got confused, there was a tap on your other shoulder. 

"Huh?" You said, turning that way. But nobody was there. 

Suddenly, Spinel's face came into view! "Hiya, Y/N!" She giggled, having stretched her neck for your faces to be only inches apart. "Spinel!" You laughed.

You turned around and saw Steven standing there, chuckling. "Is Spinel coming with us too?" You asked. 

"Yup!" He chirped, floating over to you two. "She was confused about human stuff, like eating, so I thought we could go and teach her!" Steven explained. 

"Sounds like a plan!" You said happily. 

"Besides, anything for food." You added. The three of you laughed, Spinel opening the door to The Big Donut.

"So, you just...chew it up? Into mush?" Spinel asked, with a mildly repulsed expression on her face. Steven nodded. 

"That's all there is to it!" He said. "That sounds...weird." She said, shuddering a little bit. 

"Well, you were eating donuts when you were reset." He replied. "I was?" She said, looking down at her body. You nodded. 

"I mean, if you've already tried them before, then you might be okay with it now." You said. She gulped, looking at the donut. 

It might've been a bit humorous, if you didn't know how gems worked. 

She opened her mouth, and...

It fell out. "Ooh. Try again?" Steven suggested. Spinel sighed, and took a bite of the donut. 

She made a peculiar expression as she was chewing it. You were absolutely on the edge of your seat. Would she like eating? 

It took a while, but eventually, she swallowed. You and Steven stared. 

"So...uh...you like it?" He asked with a nervous smile on his face. She thought for a moment, then quietly spoke. 

"It's...interesting. It feels really...weird, though." Spinel replied. "Hm." You mumbled in reply.

After that, you all finished your donuts, save for Spinel, and decided to go back to Steven's house. But as you guys were walking towards the house, a man and a woman stepped in front of you guys.
