Chapter Seventeen: My Flower

Well, it took a bit of walking, but you all found the ship eventually. You all went to get in. "Okay, that's..." Pearl started, then noticing that Cobalt wasn't on the ship. "Oh, I thought she was coming with us."

"She is." You said with a determined expression. You grabbed her hand. "Come on in."

"I really shouldn't..." She sighed. 

"But, aren't they gonna be pissed when they see you and know that you were on our side?" You asked. She nodded.

"Then they're probably gonna hurt you, so let's go." You said, tugging on her arm. 

But she didn't budge.

"That's not your problem. You all need to get back home safely, if I come with you, they'll track me there. They know how to find a lost spinel, trust me." She replied. 

"Well, that's a chance that I'm willing to take." You said with a shrug. "And anyways, I wasn't really asking you. So get in here."

She sighed and got into the ship, sitting next to you. 

Then, Spinel immediately got up from where she was sitting, and sat down on the other side of you, placing her gloved hand on your thigh. You blushed and tried not to be too lovey, you didn't want to upset Cobalt. 

You did, however, secretly hold Spinel's hand, to Spinel's satisfaction.

It was hours before the ship finally got to Earth, and you and Steven had dozed off. Spinel had noticed your lack of affection since being alone with Cobalt, so she secretly gave it to you while you were asleep, kissing your neck and snuggling into your chest.

Cobalt tried not to be bothersome. Her emotions didn't matter, anyways. 

It worked for a little while.

You had woken up to Spinel carrying you inside of Steven's house. She set you onto the bed, and planted a kiss on your forehead. 

Then, you summoned all of the strength you could muster, grabbed her arm, and flipped her so she was laying right next to you in the bed. She let out a squeak of surprise, and you wrapped your arms around her.

When she shifted a bit, you just held on tighter. "Cuddles." You said softly. 

She chuckled and snaked her arms around your waist, burying her face in the crook of your neck, savoring the comforting warmth of human beings.

You opened your eyes, and it was plenty dark outside. Steven's alarm clock said 3:43, yet for some reason, everybody was awake.

You attempted to wriggle out of Spinel's grasp without waking her up. It was increasingly difficult since she likes to hang on tight. Eventually, you got through, and went down into the kitchen. 

"Hey, guys." You said quietly. "Hey, Y/N." Steven replied happily. "I hope that you've slept well, Y/N." Pearl said.

"Well, I've got to go check on Cobalt. See how she's doing." You said, walking outside. 

You shivered and hugged yourself, it was freezing cold out here!

In the dark of the night, you could just make out the outline of her, sitting on a rock with her back facing the house. You put your hand on her shoulder and sat next to her.
