For real!

Ashley couldn't believe her eyes for the second time that day- Chase was on his knees looking up at her with a reproachful look in his eyes- what the?! OK, so she had left him, but did that really warrant him to kneel down?! He was Chase Hunter for Pete's sake! A billionaire for crying out loud!

''What the hell you idiot?! Get up! What do you think this is going to do to your reputation?! It's not necessary, OK? Now, get up!" she said in irritation and slight embarrassment because the doorman was looking at them.

''I'm not getting up till you say you're willing to talk and listen to me." Chase said on his knees just beside the doorman's counter.

''Suit yourself, Chase. I'm still leaving. Chall!"

''How are you going to leave with the door locked, babe?!" he asked with a bit of amusement.

''Chase, I'm giving you two minutes to have that door unlocked! I can't deal with this right now!" she said furiously as she walked to said door.

''Ahh...Dan, you saw that I tried right?!" Chase asked as he looked at the doorman in amusement.

The man simply smiled and nodded his head.

''Well, you asked for it, Ashley!" Chase said as he moved towards Ashley at the door.

She didn't have time to stop him- he swept her off her feet and threw her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

''Chase, am warning you, put me down right now! Are you gonna just stand there and let this madman kidnap me?!" she yelled at the smiling door man.

''Ma'am, you needed that!" the man said and laughed as he turned back to his duties as if nothing out of the ordinary was happening!

Chase didn't say anything, just carried her to the elevator and waited to reach his apartment.

''Chase, this doesn't change anything! It- doesn't-change- anything!" she continued yelling until they reached his apartment. Chase walked them to the bedroom, tossed Ashley onto the bed and immediately followed her, denying her any kind of escape.

''What are you doing?! Get off me you idiot! I said get off me! Nothing you do will-

Ashley's monologue was suddenly cut short by Chase's mouth! A passionate and demanding mouth that never allowed her to think or move!

''I'm going to kiss you until you let me explain properly and come back to me." Chase said appealingly while looking into her green eyes, his shining with determination.

''There's no way I'm letting you kiss me again. Say what you have to say and let me out of here!" she said in resignation.

''OK..fair enough...but I'll still kiss you, Ashley, no matter what!"

''Whatever, Chase! Say what you have to, I don't have time to waste!" she said with an eye roll.

Chase took a deep breath and said, ''Babe...first and foremost, I didn't invite Casey. She came on her own, and since she it was unexpected, I wasn't ready enough to push her away! You know very well I don't lo- want her!" he quickly corrected,'' It's you that I want- only you! You mean you didn't see that I wasn't kissing her?! What would I want from her after all this time we've been together?!" he intoned passionately while looking deep into her eyes in sincerity.

Ashley hesitated for a second...now that she thought about, she hadn't seen Chase kissing Casey back- he'd instead been stiff with...shock maybe...and had pushed her away even before he'd seen Ashley standing in the doorway...

Is it possible that Chase was telling the truth?!...Also, why would a man like Chase continue being persistent yet he could easily have whoever he wanted?...Ashley finally knew what this was! She'd been waiting for Chase to fail all along! She'd had only half her self involved in their relationship because she'd believed he would disappoint her sooner or later! She had treated Chase with the wariness she'd got from her experience with Ryan and her father!
