A Thousand Miles

Promise

For a brief moment I saw her.

And then she disappear and the crowd had started to thicken.

“Ano kaba Leon ang bagal mo!” I said as I run through the crowd searching for the lady in red.

The crowd serves as the trial to my goal.

Every turn I make my eyes scan the place.

“Lyka asan ka?” Ang paulit ulit kong tanong sa sarili ko.

Then the crowd started to thin and I found myself standing at the front of the Rowan tree.

I started scanning the place, it seems like there is no one that was a part of the party ang nagpupunta sa pwestong ito. I pull out the phone and read it again.

“Asan ka ba?” I said as I stand next to the tree trunk.

No answer but the sound of the distant dance and the rustling leaves of the tree.

Then I waited for some answer…….

Then the phone ring again.

This time it was a call from an unknown and unregistered number.

“Hello?” I started asking at the phone.

“Leon!” She answered and then she hung up

That voice, there is no mistake.

The ring started to glow wild and bright.

Then it suddenly stopped.

As if may nagpatay ng switch at ang liwanag ay biglang naglaho.

“NO!...... No…. no! Please light up, please light up!” I started to panic all of a sudden.

Ang ring, ang lights, it fade out.

Ano ang ibig sabihin nito????

I was about to get shatter and all when a lady approaches me.

“Don’t cry out Leon! Hindi bagay sa iyo, nakakahiya!” She said with a voice that I have known all my life.

  For a second I stare at her like a total moron. Looking at her was like a dream than a reality. Hindi ako sure kung talagang totoo ito o pinaglalaruan lang ako ng tadhana, but one thing is for sure, ang babaing ito na nakatayo sa harap ko, ay ang babaing inaantay ko.

   I got up on my feet, and started to peel off the mask. First ako muna, then I started to peel off hers.

The face was quiet different, this I expect.

But those eyes , those gleaming eyes, it belong to the girl that I love, and lost and now found.

It was her, in the different body, but in those same eyes.

I just stare at her , looking straight to the window of her soul.

My heartbeats faster than usual, it hard to breath but for me it’s a good sensation.

“You know it’s rude to just stare!” She said smiling at me.

With that I knew and clarify the moment.

“I’m back!” She said as she kisses me.

“Wecome home!” I replied as I pull from the kiss and kisses her back.
