Tina's vision cleared as she found herself staring at a white ceiling. She quickly turned her head around. She was in some kind of a room, with a bed and a cabinet. She noticed that she was not in her usual clothes, and she was wearing a long gown.
Panicking, she looked for her wand. There it was, sitting on the cabinet. There was a glass of water next to it and a bottle of potion.
Tina waited for a bit, before someone came inside. It was Newt.
"Oh well, you're awake" Newt said, rather relieved but he didn't react much.
"How long was I out?" Tina asked.
"A day" Newt replied, "You missed a lot of treachery, I can say".
"What happened?" Tina asked.
"Well, I'm supposed to tell the truth right?"
"The truth is what I need. I don't care if it's bitter".
"You were hit by a Cruciatus Curse. A very powerful one. Thankfully you survived" Newt said, "The others didn't get out".
"What d'you mean?"
"I'm. ." Newt began, but off Tina's glare he muttered, "Silva is dead".
"What?"
"I saw Grindelwald murder him in cold blood. He sent a Killing Curse after him and he uh. . he's dead now" Newt swallowed hard, "I've contacted Theseus, Charles and Harold. They're on their way. Dumbledore has planned for a visit to Rio".
"Oh" Tina gasped quietly, "I'm sorry".
"It's good now. We've made Antonio as the interim headmaster until it's restored" Newt explained.
"Antonio? That statue guy?" Tina laughed.
"He has got responsibilities. And he was very happy about the job" Newt smiled weakly, "Anyway, how are you feeling?"
"A bit peaky" Tina spoke, hoarsely, "I hope I didn't break my arm".
"The Healer said you were all good. You just need a bit of rest and enough precautionary medications" Newt assured her, "Everything's taken care of".
"Has it, really?"
They exchanged a smile and a snigger from Newt.
"You should leave. I bet Theseus is worried sick about you" Tina said.
"I don't think he'd want to worry. Besides I'm worried sick about you" Newt said, and off Tina's eccentric look, he quickly added, "Yeah, yeah, I've contradicted my statement plenty of times. But it's you, isn't it?"
"Me?" Tina huffed, "You're worried about me?"
"Always been" Newt admitted, rather shyly.
"What, it's because I'm this powerful Auror?" Tina mocked herself, "I can take care of myself. You should know".
"I do know" Newt said, "And not just because you're an amazing Auror. It's because you're my. . "
Newt didn't know what to say. Will Tina accept it if he admitted his feelings? No, he could never do that.
"My. . Friend?" Tina guessed.
"Maybe a little more than that" Newt muttered hastily and grinned, "You should rest".
"I've been asleep for a day. Trust me, I'm fine. I feel like I can dance" Tina said, "But I won't dance".
"You need rest, Tina. Not many people came out sane after being hit by a deadly curse" Newt said, "A lot of people have temporary memory loss because of it. You must be immune".
"Of course. I've gotten hit by plenty of curses" Tina said, rather proudly.
"You mean.. you've gotten hit by the Cruciatus Curse?"
"Maybe two times?" Tina guessed, "I've learnt how to block it, so that wouldn't be a problem. But the spell Grindelwald fired. . my brain just collapsed".
"You okay? You can see me, right?" Newt said, waving his hand.
"Yes, I can" Tina smiled, "I can see you".
What am I supposed to do with this adorable creature?
"Did you hear from Bunty? Jacob?"
"Nope. Bunty hadn't sent a letter in a week. She's probably cooped up with her three other jobs" Newt said, "She is a hard-working soul".
"Good to know" Tina nodded, a bit jealous.
"Would you like something to eat?"
"As mentioned earlier that I was peaky, I don't feel like eating anything" Tina told him, "But I'd appreciate it if you got me a cup of tea?"
"You want tea?" Newt looked aghast.
"Well, yes" Tina nodded. She yawned and pulled the blankets over her.
"What time is it?" she asked, murmuring.
"Around seven in the evening" Newt said, "It's okay. I'll fetch you supper and some chamomile tea. Until then you sleep".
"Okay".
Tina soon fell into a slumber even before she could complete her sentence. Newt moved closer and pressed a small kiss on her forehead.
"Get well soon, Tina" he whispered in her ear before leaving to fetch her the food.
Jacob was ecstatic. Just two days until he would be in Rio! Magnuson had gone to the party, as usual and Jacob was alone in the suite.
He was surprised there weren't any other wizards in the ship. There has got to be someone with a drop of magic in their blood aboard the ship.
Jacob wandered around, looking at Magnuson's things scattered around. He usually wore a trademark black cloak. It was lying on the couch. Jacob decided to fold it neatly and maintain some decorum.
He pulled the cloak and something fell down with a click. He looked at the ground and found a long piece of wood. He picked it up and examined it.
A wand.
Magnuson is a wizard!
Jacob decided to examine it even more to see who he really was. It was definitely a wand, the one Newt and Tina have. And the one Queenie has. There were intricate carvings and it was pointed at the end. There was no way a man would walk around with a piece of wood in his pocket.
My, my Magnuson. Aren't you full of secrets?
A/N : More Newtina fluff! Hopefully you guys found it great! Thanks for reading, please vote and comment.
Just a quick survey, do you want Jacob to confront Magnuson about the wand? (It's not for anything, just to see where people's minds are at)
Thanks for reading!
