So if you've been following me, I said that I was going to take off time from this book to write a story for the Wattpad contests. I guess I lied...:-P...But I'm one fifth there! Check the two parts out! It's called "TERROR".
Anyways, you might notice that there's a picture for this chapter. I am going to do it for other chapters, but so far I have also done it for chapters 8 & 10. Anyways, the picture is supposed to be of Mary and Hearthfell, even though the clothes are wrong and it doesn't rain in Wald. But the description is the same!
----------------------------------------
"Yo, Hearthfell, feliz cumpleaños!" That was when Daiko kicked him.
It was a couple months later. They were on the road to the next town, but had stopped for an hour for lunch.
"Yeouch! What was that for?" Hearthfell was really upset at her.
"You've been quite rude lately, so I wanted to kick some sense into you."
He rolled his eyes. "Anyway, what did ya say in your language?"
"Happy Birthday."
Everyone stopped what they were doing. "It's your birthday? We've got to celebrate it!" Actually, George only said that to piss Hearthfell off, and with the high pitched voice, it was working.
"Actually, I do have a little something to celebrate his birthday with." She pulls out a huge cake.
"I hate cake," Hearthfell mumbled.
"Yes! More for me!" George grabs a piece of the cake and starts to eat it. With frosting all over his face, he grins and shouts, "Birthdays are the best thing ever!"
Mary stiffened. She hated birthdays, and it had to do something with George. Trying not to cry, she walked away from the group.
Hearthfell was the only one who noticed her, and he hurried up to catch up to her.
After a little ways, she sat down on some sand and started to cry.
"Are you all right?"
She looked up to see Hearthfell. Not wanting to cry in front of him, she nodded.
"You're lying." He sat down next to her. "Talk."
She wiped away a forming tear. "I hate birthdays."
That only made him go next to her even more.
She smiled, but then frowned again and said, "Do you know why George wears his scarf all the time?"
"Because he's a creep."
Mary narrowed her eyes at him. "It's not that." She sighed and fiddled with her braided hair. "Under that scarf... George actually has a scar.
Hearthfell's eyes widen as she draws an imaginary line around her neck.
"When we were young," Mary started to say, "We used to have the best birthdays ever. But that was before that man came.
"It was our eighth birthday, and a man, in which I don't remember what he looks like, came in.
"Mother seemed scared, and she yelled at him while doing some weird things with her hands.
"The man just grinned at her and did hand motions too. And then...He noticed George and with magic, he cut his head off."
Mary started to sob, and Hearthfell took her in his arms as she stayed to cry.
"I don't remember much of what happened next, but I do remember that Mom made me use my magic to connect George back. And I was only eight, so I didn't know much about blood vessels, so George has a pale face because I didn't put them back... And he doesn't remember what happened. I'm such a coward! Him being dead was all my fault! I should've stopped that man!"
For the first time, Hearthfell was ticked off by Mary.
He grabbed her wrists and made her look straight into his eyes. "It's not your fault! It seems like he did it for no reason, since it was out of the blue. He seems crazy; for all we know, he could've started kissing your mom! Again, IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT!"
Mary looked at him at smiled, wiping her tears. "Thank you Hearthfell! I didn't realize that!" That smile could even make Satan turn to the good side.
Hearthfell noticed that smile and was stunned by it. He never heard someone say thank you to him ask that much, especially when he was pissed off at them.
He thought of all the things Mary had done for him, and how she was the most kindest person in Wald...No, the world.
He couldn't stand it anymore; he was too much in love with this beautiful girl. He brought her close to him and kissed her on the lips.
It was blissful for a few seconds. But Mary, scared because no one had ever pay attention to her before, ended the kiss by pushing him back and ran away from him to the caravan.
"Mary!" He ran after her, again.
She almost ran into Bella, but stopped, her eyes still wide open.
Hearthfell reached his hands toward her. "Hey babe, what-"
When he realized what he had said, Hearthfell quickly clapped his hands over his mouth.
Bella and Jarred face palmed themselves.
George looked at his nemesis in a scary way. "Did you just call my sister babe?"
Daiko started scolding Hearthfell. "Por que? Yo trato a parar tú, pero tú no escuchas!"
"I still don't understand your language Daiko!"
Bella and Daiko, ignoring Hearthfell, went off to somewhere else to comfort Mary, with Alex and Jarred choose behind.
Hearthfell was about to follow them, but he was abruptly picked up by his neck with a hand that was chocking him. Hearthfell looked into his attacker's, George, eyes. "WHAT THE HELL DID YA DO TO MY SISTER???"
"What do ya mean?"
George looked at him square on. "Mary always tells me everything first. And I did with her. She never ran to anybody else first. Plus, you just casually called her 'babe'."
"Can't I call someone babe? Also, maybe she's growing up. And besides," Hearthfell smirked. "Are you sure she tells you everything? She had just told me something that even you don't know."
George growled. "I'll repeat: What did ya do to her."
"None of your business."
George slammed him into the sand. "It is my business! Comfort in each other is one of the family values. Plus, Mary is my only family left." He lets go and rises up. "If you hurt her, I'll never forgive you."
He leaves, and Hearthfell massages his neck.
As he was getting up and was walking to catch up with the others, he didn't notice Zaecondis, who was behind him.
Interesting... He thought.
---------author note-----------
Hey, I just want to say that I didn't create the whole Hearthfell saying "Hey babe" to Mary. In actually, my friends Amber Yado did.
