I dedicate this chapter to Amber yado, my first viewer, follower, liker, and commenter.--
Hey everyone. Second chapter published, yeah!
A little something I forgot to say in the first chapter: the first two sentences that Daiko sang were actually in Spanish. I choose that language because I live in Southern California, where it is commonly used, and it's used to signify that Daiko was originally from another country. But I can translate this time what she said: the first time, she said that Alex's bullets are magical, and they can stop their targets. The second time, she said that there was a short earthquake, but it was powerful.
Well, here you go! Chapter two.
------------------------
Back at their cart, Daiko gave Mary and George beige cloaks. "Put these on. They'll protect you from sandstorms," she said.
Then they went on the road. The others were wearing cloaks too. Mary knew about the sandstorms of Wald. They were rare, but strong, dry, and sudden. Wald was the driest country on Rawk, so it was natural for these storms to come.
They walked, while their cart was pulled by magic Daiko used.
"So, welcome to the caravan of Hope!" Daiko said. "We are in business for five days, off one, and traveling to the next city on the last. On our five days, two of us stay for business, one goes to buy food, and now three of us can a free day at a time!"
Hearthfell cheered, but the twins didn't know what she was talking about.
"It means that we can do whatever we want, add long as we come back by a scheduled time," Bella said.
"Anyways, we should really introduce ourselves this time. You two can ask questions," Daiko continued. "My name is Daiko Anrika, and I'm the leader, who helped create this caravan. I also have the power of making anything I sing come true."
"Wow! That's so much like mine!" Mary said. "Except, it's anything I write, not sing."
George was still confused. "What's with you and your book? And what's with the umbrella?"
"Oh, I just really like that book," Daiko said, but Mary saw her fidget.
She just told us a half truth. I never understood why she never wanted to tell us what is in that book, but I never asked, since she has to tell us herself, thought Alex.
"And the umbrella is something I use to keep the heat off me. I come from a country where the climate is much cooler," Daiko said, changing the subject.
"Oh, what country?" Mary asked.
Daiko fidgeted again. "It's one that you've never heard of."
After all we've done together, Daiko has never told us the name of her country, thought Bella.
"I'll go next," Alex said, thinking, I don't want Daiko to look sad. She looks cute when she's happy. "I'm Alexander Reginlus, but if you call me that, I'll kill you, so call me Alex."
Everyone started at him. "Kill us?"George asked.
Alex nodded. "Yes, I hate that name."
I don't blame you, Alex. I would change my name, too, if that name was the one that the person I hated called me... Thought Daiko.
"To continue," Alex said, "I joined Daiko right after she created the caravan four years ago. I can control shadows."
Mary scrunched up her forehead. "By shadows, do you mean the backgrounds? As in plays?"
