Chapter 45: Always Paying

Do you know what the Rook told me? They told me that I could bring someone back to life.

I definitely wanted to bring Xan back, so I looked up with the Rukh on how to bring him back.

They said that firstly, all the body parts had to be there. For example, the arms and legs had to be there, and the eyes had to be real.

I brought out Xan's body. Check on the arms, check on the legs; they were mostly intact, so I fixed them up by making the missing parts metal.

But on the eyes... the right one was missing.

That's when the Rook told me that if I could find someone who reminded me of Xan, I could use their eye.

Easy enough; I'm Xan's twin, so I remind myself of Xan.

But that's when my son came in. Now, you've heard this story before; in fact, that is the same with the next few stories I'll tell you, but this time, I'll tell you my way.

Alexander walked up to me and smiled. I smiled back, thinking that the smile was oddly familiar.

It wasn't until later that I realized that hits smile reminded me of Xan's.

I also realized that while I looked like Xan, I could never act like him; Alexander looked and acted like him though. I teared up, realizing what I had to do.

I put on a brave face and faced my son, ripping out his eye. I only said "Thanks for the eye" so that he wouldn't me anymore and I wouldn't have to spill out my guilt.

I did get Xan back, and I asked him to take care of Alex; they became the best of friends. One time for Alex's birthday, I asked Xan to give him a pair of guns from me, but to pretend it was from him. I see that Alex still liked to use those guns.

One day, the bosses caught up with me, saying that I had to finish the job and kill one of the twins.

I sighed and found Ambie, her being on the outskirts of Usef. When I came, I found the twins, and Ambie scowled at me, doing some weird thing with her hands. But I could hear her thoughts say what are you doing here?

I smiled, knowing that I was going to party with her next. Hey babe! Wanna go in the corner and have $*x?

I actually said something at the end that made Ambie roll her eyes. Is that what you men always think of? But... They told you to finish their job, didn't they?

I nodded, and she said, Okay, but follow what I say: Chop off George's head, and then leave.

That's what I did. But I heard years later from the Rook that she paid the price off herself going to die soon.

When Alex had killed me years later, I was finally happy that I want going to lay a price anymore. But the Rook told me that the price of bringing Xan back to life was that I had a little part of me in him, so I couldn't die unless he did, so I had to wait four years to come back to life.

I guess the bosses could command me even when I'm partly dead, since they ordered me to make a man seem evil. That's when I found you Jarred; you already had a seed of anger in your heart, so you seemed perfect. I went easy on you so that it could seem that I was controlling you; I was glad when you took control.

Regarding Ur, I hated her. She was doing exactly what the bosses did. If I liked her, I would've helped her a lot. She was doing things in my name only.

When you guys killed me again, I just want to say that it was stupid; you just repeated what Alexander did many years ago.

And... I'm sorry Daiko. The bosses told me to turn a Caravan member into a dragon; I choose you since I had no good feelings toward you, but I didn't expect Alexander to do that. Heh, he really is just like Xan. I'm sorry.

It seems like the video's over, so that's all I have to say.

Couple things.

One, I'm not going to update this fast for a little while because of sports, school, etc.

Two, I wrote the last few chapters ahead, so I've just got to write chapter 46 and I'll be done with this book.
