The glass door almost made no noise as I walked out. Few feet away from me I could spot Renee, leaning over the car with a cigarette dangling from her lips, waiting for me to show up.
I speed walked towards the car, and as I came closer her smile grew more evident to me. She had her perfect line of white teeth glowing on her face, with a dimple adorning her right cheek. Her grey eyes dug right into my pair of dark green ones, and for a moment it was only the sound of moving air that could be heard.
"Holy fuck, that was awesome!" How thrilled she was shamelessly adorned her voice, mixed with a little sigh of relief as it all ended peacefully. "You did a great job." I could barely feel her hand touching my upper arm as she patted ever so slightly like a gentle feather. All I could give her at that moment was a hushed thank you under my breath before I headed back to the front seat.
Just as soon as I was seated, I could see her making her way to the front seat as well. Once the car door swung open, she fixed her gaze on me and pulled a chocolate bar out of the inside pocket of her leather jacket. She handed it to me, which left me drowning in confusion for a bit of a second. I took it, wasn't like I could reject such kindness. Though I kept my eyes on hers, silently questioning.
"Uh, thank you?" I spoke hesitantly when she placed the chocolate bar in my hand. I turned a little, enough for me to be able to have my confused eyes exactly glued on hers.
"You look super skinny, and pale as fuck. You need to eat." She justified calmly as if by looking through my eyes she could read my thoughts like an open book. "And that's unfortunate, you know. You're so fucking pretty." She added, except her voice dimmed a lot more with every word that came out of her mouth.
I looked away, trying hard to hide a sarcastic chuckle for I didn't wanna sound rude after she complimented me. But despite my weak attempts, she seemed to notice. "Am I now?"
"Hell yes, prettier than every other girl I've been with. And I think that motherfucker did you wrong, he's got no idea of what he lost." She replied, for the time of barely over an hour I'd been with her, I could swear she never sounded so mushy like she was when the words flowed out of her. She brushed a strand of my hair behind my ear swiftly, her fingers felt like sunlight touching my skin. Her eyes looked like they had swallowed the whole galaxy within, full of sparkling stars scattered around.
"Thanks, really. I mean are you usua-" Words found no exit from my mouth when a pair of eager lips with flaked skin captured mine all of a sudden.
Her hands held my cheeks hostage as her lips kept moving alone against mine, desperate for an action that would come from me. I held on to my stagnancy, lost in whether I should give in or let go. Something felt like tying me back from doing anything. I just remained as still as a rock, and she only grew more desperate as moments passed by.
I could feel her thumbs pressing harder on my cheeks in despair, and slowly, the world started freezing. In a snail's pace, I started giving in, little by little giving up on the ego that held me back the whole time. Everything of what's around started fading away as if it hadn't existed in the first place, and the divinity of the moment started kicking in. Everything felt whole for a moment, I felt contained, and for the first time in forever, nothing felt threatening at all.
As soon as my lips started moving in sync with hers, hers lost the fuel. The kiss started to weaken, until her lips abandoned mine for a breath. I could still feel her half enthusiastic half tired lips floating over mine, I could still breathe the warm, smoke filled breath she let out every now and then. The taste of her honey flavored chapstick stuck to my lips, and I'd be lying if I said it didn't feel like heaven. Yet despite all, she felt so fucking far.
I grabbed her by the neck and glued my lips on hers. Unlike me she didn't hesitate to get her lips moving identically with mine, almost copying my every movement. This time the kiss had more fire within, it felt more complete. But only few seconds in and I could feel her lips departing me, a bit by bit, her lips grew more distant until she was completely gone.
"We should go." Her voice sounded raspy and so low as if she was afraid I would hear her. She kept her gaze facing the ground, for some reason it felt like she was avoiding any kind of contact between her eyes me, I could never find an explanation for that.
She hurriedly disappeared to the other side of the car, and the next thing I knew she was next to me on the driver's seat. Everything went away in the split second when the car went on and the gas station lied behind our back for good.
