Eight's P.O.V:

I return to the centre of the Playground.

The ground is stained crimson.

Why?

I gasp.

"Nine?"

The digit is motionless. My blood goes cold. I never thought we would actually kill each other, I guess I just thought we'd live here in this cruel pace forever.

Who killed her?

There were no other bodies around her, but there's blood on the ground separate from Nine's. The two bloodstains were from different bodies.

I step forward and crouch down to examine both patches. The patch separate from Nine's is dragged towards the houses. Like someone was... bleeding? And they must've crawled to the house area or something.

I'm not going near there, anyways. I've been staying in a strangely familiar grey house recently because of all of the pretty plants around it.

I don't want anything to do with the other houses, so I turn around to leave.

WHAM!

darkness.

X's P.O.V:

I see blue. Is that... no... it can't be.

Is he dead?

I dash into the room, Five following close behind.

"FOUR!!" I scream, rushing over to him and hugging him like I've never hugged before.

"You came back for me?!" Four gasps, squeezing me. I finally smell his lavender scent, mixed with a copper tang of blood. He's so soft, and I hug even tighter.

"I'd never leave you here!!" I squeak and he chuckles quietly.

"Anyways, as much as I love this reunion and all, we should really patch up your boyf-" Five quickly covered her mouth. "Four. Patch up Four." She corrected herself, making me sigh in relief. Four looked quizzical, but stayed silent, merely nodding his head.

"Yeah, X, my blood's all over you."

I pulled away hesitantly only to wrinkle my nose(?) at the scarlet stained on his chest.

"Ew." I mumbled. "Four, can you make us a medical kit?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

"That's the thing, bud." Four groans.

"None of our powers work here unless they're somehow attached to our bodies, like Eight's vines or One's hands. I've been in here before"

"That barrier was made to maintain peace in the Playground." He continued.

"So long story short, we're screwed, correct?" Five asks flatly.

"Yep." Four grumbles.

I opened my mouth to say something inspirational along the lines of 'We can make it!' Or 'Believe in yourself!', but I have nothing.

I close my mouth again, for once at a complete loss for words.

Yeah, we're practically dead.

But at least we have each other.

I want to hug Four again. I don't care about the blood. But I know Four doesn't like being touched too often, so I resist the urge. A hard decision. I really missed him. I feel like almost half my value without him.

He's the four to my three.

Seven.

Funny how Four plus Three equals Seven, when we're the three caught up in the most drama.

How coincidental, am I right?
