Two's P.O.V:

"One, we can't do this!! We can't kill anyone!" I cry, but One looks at me coldly. "Do you want to make it out alive with me or not?" He narrows his eyes. A tear rolls down my cheek, and I wipe it away quickly.

He turns his back on me.

"If you're not going to, I'll just have to do it myself."

I shake my head in disbelief. "One, I..."

"I loved you." I cough out.

He pauses.

I quickly continue, stuttering.

"Where's that soft little digit, the one who loved to read, write, play sports with me...? The one who s-sat next to a f-fire with me just a f-few days ago, h-huddled under a blanket d-drinking hot cocoa?" I sob, letting the words clumsily slip from my mouth.

Static.

I cut my hair

"What happened to him?"

To make you stare.

"What happened to you?"

I'll hide my chest

One looked at me with guilt in his eyes.
"You were number one to me." I feel a lump form in my throat.

...till I figure out a way to get us outta here.

"That number's gone." One whispers.

He turns back around

and leaves.

I crumble back to the floor, tears slipping down my face, each droplet leaving me until my face was sopping wet. I looked down at my hands, the hands that could've held One's, the hands that could've killed for him. The hands that didn't do a thing to stop him from leaving.

Leaving, and killing every number here.

Just so he could escape with me.

He didn't care about X, or Four, or Three... he cared about me. He wanted to leave this infinity-forsaken place with none other than myself.

He loved me back?

Maybe.

Possibly.

Perhaps.

...

Hopefully.

X's P.O.V:

"Th-this is a-all my,.. my f-fault..." Nine sobs on Five's shoulder in front of me while Five rubs her back. "It's my fault." I mumble, staring at my feet.

"If I hadn't had this 'brilliant' idea, none of us would be here. None of us would..." I trail off.

"Actually it's Three's fault." Five speaks up.

"So let's go kick his a.... you get the picture."
She shrugs and wipes a tear from Nine's face. "Don't cry, Nine. Please." Five looks at her sympathetically.

"Let's save Four, kill Three, and live here together." Her eyes glisten, on the edge of tears. Nine reaches for her and pulls her into a tight embrace. "Okay, Nine, you silly little lesbian, come on." Five teases and puts her hand on Nine's head. Nine opens her mouth as if to argue, but closes it again, at a loss for words. Everyone knows you can't win an argument against Five. Especially not Nine.

I stand there awkwardly, not wanting to be some kind of third wheel. Five notices this and looks back at Nine. "Hey Ninety." "Yeah?"
"Wanna know why X asked us all to get Four back?" Five smirks at me.

I immediately shower her with "NO"s and "SHUT UP"s until she stops laughing. Nine seems to have joined in on the giggling as well, and that's when Five points out the bright orange blush frosting my face. But not the frosting of a low-sugar cupcake, no. It's as if some sugar-high kid wanted more sweets and dumped a bag of frosting onto one.

"FIVE!! I TOLD YOU NOT TO TELL ANYONE!!" I scream at her. She laughs like a hyena, Nine following. "Dude, you're so obvious, I didn't even have to say anything!!" Five shouts. Nine nods, grinning. "You guys are probably crushing on each other, too, you know!!" I yell back, and they both go silent.

They stare at me, then each other, and back.

"Sorry." I mumble.

Five and Nine's eyes meet.

"Do you?" Nine asks quietly.
"Do you?" Five retorts softly, which is unusual.

They share the same glance.

And that's when something comes up behind Nine, and she falls to the ground.
