Four's P.O.V:

I stand up with shaky legs. X and Five help lift me up so I don't topple to the ground. "Careful, Four, you don't want to crack your head open." X jokes.

I stand up, my knees wobbly, only to lose my balance and fall backwards. "Silly little thing. Get up now, child." A soft voice coos. I smile up at her and try again. I take a few steps, and tumble backwards for the second time. She giggles. "Careful, little one."

"You don't want to fall and crack your tiny head open."

I gasp softly, the memory striking me.

I hate this place.

"Nostalgia much?" Five snarks at me. "Yes, lots, thank you very much." I retort, sighing.

X shoots me a look of sympathy.

"So basically, Four, we're stuck in this place until everyone but two people die." Five suddenly says bluntly.

What.

"You're messing with me. Shut up." I growl. Five shrugs and beckons me to follow her. X looks at his feet and leads alongside her. It's not often X is in charge. This is surprising.

We trudge outside on the snow sprinkled grass. It's pretty cold outside... Five has red mittens. X has a plum scarf. And I'm out here wearing noth... wait. X has a plum scarf?

I whip my head back around to study it. Indeed, it's a plum scarf. My plum scarf.

"Hey, X, you brought the wrong scarf." I speak up, and he freezes. "Uh,,, u-ummmm... r-really?? I d-didn't notice, um, you can have it baaAAAaaack,,,,"

Is this variable speaking English??

"Keep it." I grunt. X opens his mouth to protest, but instead barely musters up a timid "ok..."

He pauses.

"...sorry."

This adorable little thing is killing me.

Five catches my eye. She points at me, gestures to X, and winks.

God dammit, Five. She already found out.

I grumble and keep following her. She suddenly stops at the gates of the playground. I raise an eyebrow. She turns around. "Try it, we're stuck." I push her out of the way and yank the gates.

They don't budge.

Static.

A weird poem starts playing from some kind of hidden audio box.

Five was right.

We're trapped.

"X, why is everyone here anyways?" I ask.

"Well, um, I didn't want you to die, so I kinda, sorta... went to everyone's house and asked them to come with me to save you from Three." He rushes his words.

"And they agreed?" I gape.

"...yeah..." X whispers.

X would do all this for me?

Maybe he does like me.

"All for me?" I ask to make sure.

"...yyyyeeeeaaaaahhhh..." he speaks even quieter, which I didn't think was possible.

I suddenly reach for him and pull him in for a tight embrace. "Okay, so you kind of doomed everybody, but you still saved me." I smile weakly into the top of his head. Woah, he's so soft. He squeaks a little in embarrassment. X is still rather short, so I pick him up and he wraps his legs and arms around my waist. I smile a little more. "You're such a good person, X." I put him down slowly.

I hear chuckling.

"FIVE, SHUT UP!!" I screech.

Five practically wheezes and darts away behind a bush.
