Damian glared at the woman his Angel called 'Nona'. He saw no reason for her being there, but it seemed she was equally surprised to see him there.

"Let's all get some lunch; I know a great café near by." Marinette spoke. "Which café? I'll ride my bike there to find us a table." Gina asked. "Petite au Petite." answered Mari. "We will meet you shortly." Damian stated, wrapping his arm around Marinette's waist, pulling her closer to his body. The elder woman nodded and drove off.

'For what reason is the 'Son of the Bat' and 'grandson to the Demon's Head' with my Marinetta?'

"Marinetta, I think I forgot my wallet with my bike. Can you grab it for me?" asked Gina. "Of course, Nona." Marinette said, easing her way out of the booth.

Gina steeled her face and bowed to her Lord. "How may I served the Demon's Head?" she asked.

"How do you know my Angel?" Damian demanded. "She is my granddaughter." she answered.

"Explain." he spoke.

"I had left the League with your mother's permission. I was to be wed, but should I be summoned, I was to drop everything I was doing and return." Gina began, "I awaited the call for years, but it never came. Soon, I bore my husband a son to follow in his footsteps. It wasn't until his eighteenth year that your mother summoned me. Rolland was-is a very traditional man. He knew of my history with the League and had forbidden me from contact with League members so I could raise our family. As I left that night to your mother's side, he told me that everything would be different upon my return."

"I wasn't sure what he meant at the time. I was more concerned as to your mother's summons. There had been an attack and I was needed to resume my old position: Almasafir*. I was to relocate members and get them to their targets undisclosed. Talia had informed me of her youngest party that was still a minor. She could not be left unattended as she was still in the midst of her language tutoring. She spoke Mandarin and French. Talia asked me to return to Paris with her by my side. I could continue her lessons until she was needed."

"When I returned home, with her by my side, I found out that Rolland had exposed my history to our son. Rolland began to shout that if I couldn't keep my promise and respect tradition, I didn't deserve to be by his side. Tom suggested hiding her somewhere in the city. I took Sabine with me to a hotel. My sweet boy visited me against his father's wishes. He would bring baked goods and meals for the two of us. One day, he spotted a building for sale and suggested it to us. I called up the realty person and we made an appointment to meet."

"We took a tour of the empty building finding ample space and rooms for the two of us til Sabine was summoned. When the realtor asked what we were going to turn the building into, it was my son who spoke up. Tom said we would be turning it into a bakery and that he was Sabine's fiancée. I was merely there as support. He went on to say that they had agreed to save up for the bakery before getting married and getting rings. It was their dream. The realtor had seemed skeptical and I was having enough trouble talking down Sabine from murdering my son. He asked for Tom's qualifications and when Tom mentioned his father's name, they smiled. They spoke highly of Rolland's baked goods and approved the contract on the spot."

"Sabine was not happy that she would be living with Tom and he said that they would only have to pretend to be a couple in front people during work hours. He also promised to stay on his own floor. Sabine took to the attic since there was an easy escape route and running across the rooftops wouldn't be a problem for her. Rolland was furious when he found out. He thought I had brought Tom into the League and Tom explained he was only trying to help, but he distanced himself from us and told us he wanted no part of our lives any longer."

"We faked a wedding

and they lived comfortably for years until I got a call from Sabine, angry that she was pregnant with my son's child. When I asked for an explanation, she said they had merely drank too much while pretending to play the 'happy couple'. I helped raise Marinetta til she was five and then Talia summoned me back to assist. You were already seven, by that point, Young Master. I brought up about Sabine and Talia said she would look into it, but Sabine is still waiting. She still practices her forms and is eager to return. I understand there is no love between her and my son. I don't believe they expected to be in this role as long as they have."

"Does Marinette know about her parents?" asked Damian

"Does Marinette know about her parents?" asked Damian.

"No." Gina spoke.

"Does she know anything about the League?" he questioned.

"As far as I am aware of, no. Her parents put on the 'happy couple' role when she is around." Gina explained, "Have you told her anything, My Liege?"

"Everything." Damian commented, noticing the Almasafir* stiffen.

"I see. I'll report back to her parents and we'll see what to do from there." Gina bowed her head.

"You will do nothing. She is mine!" Damian growled.

"Nona, I'm sorry. I couldn't find your wallet." Mari shouted, running back to the table.

"No?" she asked, pretending to search her jacket. "Oh!" she exclaimed, pulling it out with a smile, "Perhaps, my age is beginning to show, my Leetle Fairy."

Damian frowned as Marinette sat down across from him. He was aware of the term:'Leetle Fairy' It was used as a code name for sleeper agents. Fairies were fleeting, a tool to be used and lost. Not his Angel; he swore it.

"Habibiti," he watched her grandmother freeze at his name for her, "How would you like to spend the rest of the day? I assume you would like to spend it with your Nona?" "Oh! Um,-" realizing she would have to choose. "Go on, Marinetta, I'll head to the bakery afterwards. I don't want to interrupt any plans." Gina encouraged, plastering a smile on her face.

Gina sent a small understanding nod Damian's way. Marinette was not to be touched.

Marinette nodded, smiling non the wiser as to her grandmother and boyfriend's conversation.
