(Your POV):
I slid my bag off of my shoulder's when I got back from Peter's apartment, immediately checking what my missions were for the night. However, instead of a list of names I found one line written: Meeting at H.A.M.M.E.R. Headquarters at 4pm.My mind went blank, fear creeping in that I had done something wrong. I mean, yes, there was that one incident with the serum and the fact that I had yet to bring in Spider-Man for them. But I offered to fix my mistake with the serum and I was trying to capture Spider-Man, I didn't think those mistakes were serious enough to call me to a meeting at H.A.M.M.E.R. Headquarters.
I tried to get my mind off of looming meeting by distracting myself with homework, but I found that my mind kept drifting to what they could have called me in for. My alarm finally went off, telling me that I needed to set out so that I wouldn't arrive late, relieving me of my fruitless attempts to be productive. I brought my backpack just in case I had free time to get some work done as well as my suit in case of emergency.
When I arrived outside the Oscorp building, I could feel my body shaking slightly. Before walking in, I forced myself to take a deep breath and try to calm myself, or at least find an air of confidence with which I could walk through those doors and face my parents. I then barged into the research facility, ignoring the person behind the desk as I made my way to the nearest elevator. The man didn't even try to stop me, merely rising from his seat slightly but inching back down, as though intimidated.
I inserted my key in the control panel once the doors had closed, informing the elevator that I wanted to go down, something that was not an actual option on the buttons. It didn't take long for the doors to slide open and I walked out into H.A.M.M.E.R. headquarters. Norman Osborn was waiting alongside my parents for me, their group looking up as I entered the space.
Still concerned as to why I had been brought here, I followed them into one of the rooms for human experimentation. The room was empty, save for us, and I looked at them expectantly, needing to know what was going on.
"You may have a seat, Miss (L/N)," Mr. Osborn spoke, gesturing to the patient's bed in the middle of the room.
I did as he requested and turned to my parents, "may I ask why you brought me in today?"
"We believe that we have perfected the super strength serum that you stole and now we need a human test subject," my mother explained, my blood running cold. "And we collectively decided that it would be best if it were our already enhanced assassin. Your body is already used to this type of change so it would be more likely to work with you and you'll be even more unstoppable than before."
Flashes of memory passed through my mind of the last time I was injected with something like this. I was still quite young, but I could remember the pain vividly, something that torturous was not going to leave my memory anytime soon. I didn't want to have to go through it again, I was already powerful enough as it was.
"But why?" I blurted out, desperate to save myself the pain. "I don't need super strength, I already have telekinesis. I don't actually lift anything physically, I just use my mind. Can't I wait until we get something more useful, like a serum that would allow me to teleport?"
"Well it never hurts to have more tools to choose from," my mother argued, telling me that this decision was final. She was incorrect about the pain though, it was going to hurt like hell.
"Very well, so when do you want to do the injection?" I asked, hoping to get it over with as soon as possible.
"This serum needs a number of dosages to truly be effective and my scientists here were unable to fix that," Mr. Osborn explained. "We will start the injections today, as soon as we have finished speaking, but you will need another one every day for the following week. After that we will run some tests to check it's effectiveness and determine what to do next."
I nodded, feigning more confidence that I certainly truly felt, "let's get this over with then."
While Osborn went to collect the scientists who were to inject me, I slipped my backpack off and laid down in the patient bed. My parents came over to secure my limbs to the bed, preventing me from thrashing about once the injection was administered. After doing that, they left the room while I stared at the ceiling, waiting for the scientists to arrive so that I could get this over with.
They took forever to get to my room, equipped with a long needle and the familiar red serum, reminding me of the night I had stolen it. Had I known that I was the one to be given it, I doubted I would have put so much effort into saving as much of the serum as possible, I would have instead focused my energies on capturing Spider-Man.
I closed my eyes as they approached with the needle, trying to keep my arm relaxed, but finding it increasingly difficult. They jabbed the needle into my arm and nothing happened. There was a slight pain from the needle breaking the skin, but that was nothing compared to the torture that I had endured with my first serum, or even just at the hands of my parents.
Then all of a sudden my senses were overwhelmed by a unimaginable agony. My vision turned red as I let out an agonizing scream, my body thrashing around in a feeble attempt to escape the pain. I couldn't breathe. I just wanted it to be over, I just wanted the suffering to stop. Finally my body became numb to the pain as everything around me went black.
