(Your POV):
I didn't think the day could get any more trying. After somehow managing to survive the absolutely horrendous school day, I spent about an hour with Harry, answering all of the questions that he had. He, of course, no longer believed in H.A.M.M.E.R. now that he was not under the control of the Goblin serum which meant I had to try to salvage my mission."What about Spider-Man, do you not want to kill him anymore? I heard that you were pretty determined to make him pay, even before the serum," I inquired, knowing that I needed to make him agree to keep H.A.M.M.E.R.
"Well all I need for that is you, don't I? And you claim that you have a strong rivalry with him so that shouldn't be a problem for you. Also this way, you'll finally be free from your missions."
"Harry, you don't understand. If H.A.M.M.E.R. dies, then I die. Especially if it occurs as a result of my failure to convince you to keep it."
"But can you bring me Spider-Man?"
"I can certainly try, he's stronger than you would think he is. You may not remember fighting him, but he's a very difficult one to catch," I admitted, my gaze falling to the floor. I knew that I couldn't promise to do the thing that I knew I would never do. The break up was to protect Peter, I wasn't going to do any less now.
"You don't seem as confident as you used to. How about this, you bring me Spider-Man by the end of the month and I won't tell anyone about H.A.M.M.E.R."
I shook my head, "Harry, Spider-Man didn't kill your father."
"What?"
"I was afraid to tell you this before because I needed you to continue funding H.A.M.M.E.R., but it is only right that you should know the truth of what happened. Your father was insane, driven crazy by the serum the same as you and Spider-Man tried to stop him from killing those in Times Square. I arrived to try to distract Spider-Man so that your father could do as he pleased. However, your father was offended by my help and turned on me. By the end, both Spider-Man and I were weakened and he was about to kill him so I made a last minute decision. I caused his glider to fly into him, it was me."
Harry stares at me in disbelief for a moment before it turned to anger, "you killed my father? To save Spider-Man?"
I nodded, "and myself, I suppose. At least that's what I told my parents."
"I thought you hated Spider-Man, why didn't you just let him die?!" Harry cried out, making waves of guilt flood my body.
"We may act like we're enemies, but I won't hurt him, not severely anyway. Besides, your father wasn't himself, you of all people should be able to understand that. His last words were pleading that Spider-Man didn't let you know about the monster he had become."
"I don't understand, why do you refuse to hurt Spider-Man? He is a target of H.A.M.M.E.R., right? You're disobeying orders by saving him," Harry commented and I nervously wrung my hands while I nodded. "So why do it? Do you- do you know who he is?"
I could feel tears prickling in my eyes as I nodded once more, against my better judgement. But perhaps if Harry knew that one of his best friends was Spider-Man then he would stop this ridiculous man-hunt.
"Who is it?" He pressed, his voice revealing how desperate he was to know.
"I-I shouldn't tell you, he keeps it a secret for a reason."
"Please, (Y/N)," Harry pleaded, walking to the end of the room that he was being held in. "You clearly care about him, you wouldn't defy your parents if you didn't. The only other person I've known you to do that for is- Peter. Oh my god, Peter is Spider-Man, isn't he?"
"What? No, of course not!" I lied, hoping to do some damage control. "How could the nerdy Peter possibly be Spider-Man? I mean seriously, Harry."
"No, it all makes sense. His odd behavior after visiting Oscorp, something did happen to him that day, didn't it? That's why you want to protect him, Spider-Man's your boyfriend."
I sighed, "we- Peter and I aren't actually dating anymore."
"Really? What happened?"
"We were working on our Rube Goldberg project one night and I accidentally crashed at his place. My parents came to get me, using a tracker on my phone and they were so close to seeing Peter. They know Spider-Man's face, it's too dangerous for me to date him when they will easily recognize him. Besides, I knew that you would have a change of heart once you came back to your senses, I was afraid that you were going to let it slip that I was in a relationship. I have to protect Peter, whatever it takes."
"And how did Pete react to this?"
"He doesn't know why I broke up with him, he doesn't know that I'm the Void. He can't know. I already hurt him enough by ending our relationship, it would be worse if he found out that I was his enemy all of this time."
Harry nodded, "your secret is safe with me and I'll let H.A.M.M.E.R. remain, but I don't think think breaking up with him was your best decision. You may be protecting him from your parents, but you just broke him more than I imagine your parents could."
Fighting back the tears, I changed the subject, "well, here is your second meal of the day. I apologize for giving it to you early, but I wanted to make sure you were doing ok after the injection this morning. Here, you can have some snacks and here's my number, let me know if you need anything. I'm going to have to keep you under surveillance for at least the next week, just to make sure that you are fully conscious of your actions and don't have any relapses."
With that, I left the base, not wanting to talk about Peter anymore. I knew that I hurt him, but I would rather him be hurt than dead. I had to protect him, it was what I swore to do and I wasn't going back on that promise.
When I arrived home, I was surprised to find that my missions for the day replaced with a summons to H.A.M.M.E.R. headquarters. Curiously, I dropped my bag and made my way to Oscorp, which was under my father's leadership now that Harry had gone missing. Once in the elevator to go down to the headquarters, I changed into my suit, knowing that not even the majority of those who worked for H.A.M.M.E.R. knew what I looked like.
"What took you so long?" My mother whispered to me as walked into the room where my father, mother, and a few agents were gathered.
"I had to stay after school for something, sorry," I replied quickly, slipping into one of the seats. "What's all this about?"
"Nice if you to finally join us, Void. As I was saying, we believe that Spider-Man is behind the disappearance of Harry Osborn. It is time that we do more than just hope that Void will catch him. A few of you were on a mission today to break Mac Gargan and Mark Raxton out of prison. They both have vendettas against Spider-Man and are happy to be experimented on. Once we enhance them, they will help Void end Spider-Man once and for all and after that we can finally set our sights on the Avengers. Kuznetsov, Smythe, I trust that you can power Raxton with that new liquid metallic alloy you discovered? I'll take Gargon, I know just what to do with him."

(A/N): I lowkey want to pull Daredevil into this story but I already have so many things going on and it might just end up being too much, especially since I only write sporadically while I'm in school and don't always remembered about the threads I want to weave. Anyway while I continue pondering whether he could serve a purpose or not, I hope that you enjoy this chapter!
