(Peter's POV):
Harry, Ned, MJ, and I fought through the throngs of people, trying to get to close to the looming tree. May hung back to take the picture, thankful that I had continued the tradition of taking a picture in Rockefeller center by including my friends.

When I was younger, I would take a picture with my parents and then, when they died, my Uncle Ben had stepped in so that I could continue the tradition. After his passing I had given up on the tradition, even though May had offered to take me every year. Ned found out that I had done this and finally convinced me to go with him and it started all over again. Now we dragged Harry and MJ into it, both of whom were acting annoyed by having to do something so silly, but I could tell that they were also happy to participate.

Once we made it to the base of the tree, we smiled at May, who captured the shot just as a green figure appeared in the sky, smoke trailing behind him. My spidey sense went off, alerting me to the present danger and I quickly gave Ned a look that told him to take our friends and keep them safe because I had to go be Spider-Man. The figure tossed what looked like an orange bomb into a nearby building, causing for a section to crumble onto the crowd assembled to look at the tree.

Screams were ringing out as Ned nodded to me and began to usher MJ and Harry out of harms way as I hung back, ducking into a hidden corner and changing into my Spider-Man suit as another explosion rang out. All the while this flying creature was cackling, clearly enjoying the mayhem that it was creating.

As soon as my mask was secure, I swung up to meet this flying thing, kicking it in the stomach and causing it to fall from its glider. Up close, I could see that it appeared to be a man incased in a green metallic suit, a manic expression plastered on the mask. The glider flew beneath him, allowing his feet to land safely atop of it.

He flew back up to meet me and sneered, "you think you can win against me, Spider-Man? You are nothing."

Bullets began shooting out of his glider and I quickly stuck a web to the building on the other side of the center, swinging out of the way. Using the momentum from swing, I launched myself back across and landed on his glider, punching a hole through it. He growled in response, elbowing me in the chest and causing me to fall from the glider.

I landed hard on the ground, groaning as I pulled myself up and watched as the man flew away on his now unsteady board. Knowing that there was still a crowd around me, I forced myself off of the ground and swung back over to where I had left my clothes that I could change back and slip back into the crowds so that Harry and MJ wouldn't find out who I was.

(Your POV):
"Do you know who he is?" I demanded of my parents, annoyed by how they were skirting around the question.

They were seated across from me in our apartment, my laptop between us. On its screen was an article about the New York's new 'menace,' dubbed the Green Goblin. At first I was merely curious if the Goblin had been one of my parents experiments, one that they had kept hidden from me, but now I knew that something was up.

"What we have or have not created is of no concern to you," my father replied, making me roll my eyes.

"It is if I run into him while carrying out my missions. Look, I need to know whether or not he's a threat. If he is, I will happily take him out, if not I can keep my distance or even help him. I don't know anywhere else besides Oscorp that are this advanced in enhancing humans, so I'm assuming he comes from your labs. But, based on the giant scene that he made in Rockefeller Center, he may very well be a rogue experiment that I should take down."

"The Goblin is not an enemy, but you do not need to assist him. I think you should keep your focus on Spider-Man, you've failed at bringing him in for months now, I'm starting to think you've given up on that mission," he attacked, clearly focused solely on changing the subject.

"We are both trying to bring each other to our respective leaders, it gets quite difficult. But I will not fail you, I never have before," I replied, trying to abate the anger surging inside of me. I wanted to see him go fight Spider-Man and see how well that turned out. There was a reason that the independent superhero had been able to survive for years.

He raised his eyebrow in response, "how about the time that you failed to make it back home, thus not completing any of your missions that day? And the time that you were sent to bring back a vial of serum and only turned up with a few drops. Or how about that time when you were given specific orders to kill a man and then came running back to us bitching about how you couldn't do it."

I tried to swallow my outrage, but it came bubbling up nonetheless, "it wasn't my fault that you decided to inject me with superhuman strength, despite it being completely unnecessary! If I hadn't been recovering from treatment, I would have easily completed my missions for the day! As for the serum, the few drops had the same effect, didn't it? You try fighting for your life while protecting a fragile glass vial! And that time I failed to kill someone, I was nine years old. Most nine year olds only care about memorizing the states for their informal test, not finding out that killing a man also included killing his family, including a kid their age!"

My father's hand made contact with my cheek and I immediately felt a stinging sensation, "you also fail at keeping your mouth shut. I don't need an assassin who will bitch and moan about how unfair her treatment is, I need one that will follow orders. Now, leave the Green Goblin to do as he pleases and get me Spider-Man."
