(Your POV):
I worked on the serum makeup for the next few days but not able to figure out how to stabilize it. My only other option was to strip him from his powers entirely however I wanted his permission to do that. And I needed him to be able to think properly before deciding whether or not he wanted to be normal again.

In my obsession with this task I had given myself, I hadn't ended things with Peter yet, even though I knew that I should. But at this moment I was glad that I hadn't, Peter was the only one that I knew that help me figure out how to fix Harry.

I checked the time, realizing the it was past eleven, but knowing Peter he was probably still up and I could catch him at his apartment. So I gathered up all of my work up until this point and threw it into a bag, slipping out of my window onto the fire escape. I hesitated for a moment, wondering if I was doing the right thing, but I had to help Harry, no matter what the cost. I had been the one to kill Norman Osborn, I had created the new Green Goblin.

I sprinted through the streets to try to get to Peter's apartment before he went to sleep, praying that I wouldn't have to wake him. Once at his apartment building, I immediately ran up the fire escape, finding it less sturdy than the ones that I was used to climbing. I was relieved when I made it to his window, knocking on it lightly so that I could be let in.

Peter looked up from his work in confusion, his eyes widening as he saw me outside his window. He ran over to the window, throwing it open so that I could slip inside, immediately berating me with questions in a hushed voice, "(Y/N), what are you doing here? How did you get up here? Aren't you frozen? What a minute, weren't you grounded? Is everything ok?"

As he bombarded me with questions, he pulled a blanket off of his bed and wrapped it around my shoulders. I cracked a smile at how anxious he was and took his hand to calm him, "I'm fine, I promise. I-I just needed some help. As for how I got here, I snuck out of my apartment so that my parents wouldn't know that I was gone and used your fire escape to get to your room."

"You used that old thing? (Y/N), I'm not sure that that's entirely stable," he replied, clearly afraid that I was going to hurt myself or worse kill myself.

"Sorry? I just needed help with something and you're the only I could think of that would be smart enough to figure it out."

"Well I don't know about that, but what do you need?" He offered his assistance as I dropped my bag from my shoulders and began to take out the unorganized sheets of work.

"Well, my parents are working on something and were having trouble, so they gave it to me with the promise that if I could solve it then they would decrease the time that I'm grounded for."

"So they're basically asking for free labor?" He clarified, not seeming overly excited about helping me.

"I mean it's more-"

"I'm just joking, (Y/N), let's see what you've got," he replied, holding out his hand to see my work.

"We're trying to stabilize this serum, but nothing I do seems to work. It should work once these chemical formulas are balanced, but I'm having trouble with that."

"This is what you've been working on all week, isn't it? I've seen you scribbling in your notebook a lot."

I nodded as I watched him scan everything I'd finished so far. A few minutes passed and he jumped up to grab a pencil, immediately beginning to frantically jot things down. Curiously, I walked up behind him to see what he was thinking and he suddenly stopped.

He raised his head and looked at me, "this is supposed to give someone superpowers, isn't it? I-I'm sorry, (Y/N), but I can't do this, I don't think it's right."

My heart sank as he handed the papers back to me, his posture apologetic. I refused the papers as I made a last minute decision, "the serum isn't to give someone powers, Pete. It's to stabilize the powers that someone already has. I shouldn't be telling you this, my parents would kill me if they found out, but it's to save Harry."

"H-Harry?" Peter's voice cracked and I immediately began to regret my decision to come here. But he knew how to fix it, he was solving it before he realized what he was working on.

I nodded, looking down at my feet, "all of this is strictly confidential, of course, you mustn't tell a soul. But the Green Goblin, that was Norman Osborn-"

"Created by your parents?"

I shook my head, "I don't know exactly what happened, they wouldn't tell me anything. But there was an experimental serum- it wasn't nearly ready to be used by anyone. I guess Mr. Osborn, he must have grown impatient or something, perhaps he needed to prove that it would actually work? I'm not quite sure, but the point is that he used the serum on himself, but it drove him crazy because it was imperfect. Now Harry must have done the same. I know that he has a vendetta against Spider-Man, he thought that the serum would give him the strength to kill him. That's why he's been acting so strangely, he's not himself anymore, I have to help my parents save him."

Peter looked down at the papers in his hands for a moment before he finally nodded, "if I'm helping Harry, then of course I'll do it."

He sat back down and began to create a way for me to stabilize the Goblin serum. I sat down beside him and watched him work, every now and then catching a mistake that he made. It was a little passed midnight when he handed me the paper he had been working on, "here, tell your parents to try this. Let me know how it works, will you?"

I gave him a smile as I glanced down at his completed formula, "yeah, of course. I just hope that my parents will tell me. Thank you for the help, I should probably get back before they realize that I'm gone."

"Wait, (Y/N)," Peter stopped me, grabbing my arm. "Are you sure you're ok? You've been acting kind of off these last couple of days, I-I've been a little worried about you."

"I've just been a little stressed, that's all," I lied, taking a step away from him.

"(Y/N/N), please, trust me."

My gaze dropped to my feet as my heart rate quickened, "I-I feel bad saying this now, after you just helped me, but I-I don't know if I want to do this anymore."

"This?"

"This," I replied, motioning between myself and him. "You and me. I just- it's too dangerous and I don't know..." My voice trailed off as I noticed Peter's bottom lip trembling. "I-I'm sorry, Pete, but I can't do this. I-it's too much and my parents- well, my parents will find out about this eventually and when they do, they will- they will make us end it anyway."

"(Y/N/N), please," he pleaded, taking my hand in his.

I could feel tears well up in my eyes as I pulled away from his grasp, "I'm sorry."

With that I slipped out of the window and ran down the fire escape, the warm tears burning my skin against the cold wind.

(A/N): Rip your relationship! I also just realized that I didn't mention in the note the other day that (Y/N/N) means your nickname for those who didn't know! I hope that you enjoyed this chapter! Do you think the fixed serum will work?
