A month and a half later, everything was set. They were done with their television show, they cancelled all guesting appearances and they talked to the producer for their album that they’ll just record in the States and send the demo to them. The movie was already showing and block screenings were lined up but they declined all of them. It was hard but they needed to.
“Julie, nakita mo ba yung coat ko? It’s gonna be freezing there.” Elmo said as Julie rummaged through his closet. Julie was helping him pack. “I already packed it in your trolley.” She yelled as she came out, carrying a stack of shirts and jeans for him. “Alin ba sa mga caps mo ang dadalhin mo?” She asked as she placed them all inside his bag. “I dunno. Maybe four or five will do. I need them in different colors too.” He answered trying to zip his bag close which was full of shoes. “Pumili ka na ‘dun! Bilis!” She commanded as she moved all his bags to the corner of the room. After a few minutes, Elmo came back with five caps, all with different colors. “Saan ko ba ilalagay ‘to?” He asked, dropping all of his caps on his bed. “Hay nako… Elmo! Humanap ka diyan! Ang dami na ng bags mo! How are you gonna bring it all?” She exclaimed, placing her hands on her waist. Elmo laughed and walked towards her. He put his lips close to her ear and whispered, “Eh, di, you bring it. After all, macho ka naman eh…” She pushed him away and they both laughed. He started tickling her, “Elmo!!! Ayoko na!! Tama na!!” she pleaded as his hands found her ribs. “Sabihin mo muna na mas macho ako sa’yo!” He commanded not letting up on tickling her. “Mas macho AKO kesa sa’yo!!!!” She shouted. “Sabihin mo na kase…” He repeated. She was losing her breath. She was also getting very tired. “Okay. Okay.” Elmo stopped to listen to what she was going to say. They were on his bed. Elmo was facing her but he was leaning on his elbow. “Ikaw na.” She said weakly.
“Ako na ang alin?”
“Basta! ‘Yun na ‘yun!”
“Ang daya-daya mo naman.”
“Hindi kaya. Sinabi ko na nga na ikaw na.”
“Whatever, Julie.” They both faced the ceiling and laid still for a moment. Julie moved her head so that she was leaning on his shoulder. “Do you think we’re doing the right thing, Moe?” She whispered. Elmo sighed and wrapped his arm around his shoulders. “It’s the right thing to do for us. Napapagod na tayo. Inaabuso natin yung katawan natin.” He answered as he kissed the top of her head. Julie just nodded and pressed her head closer to him. “Basta’t kasama kita, parang kaya ko lahat. You’re the best best best best best best friend ever, Moe.”
“Correction! Bestest best friend ever.” He interjected.
“Yes. You are. Baby, you are.” She giggled and hugged him.
