TOM 16 - No More Hesitations

Seraphim's POV

Letting go of Lilith, I found the unconscious Revv saved by a broad oka tree's branches and leaves.

"Revv, gising." pagtawag ko sa kanya.

Kumunot ang kanyang noo na tila nananaginip bago magbukas ang kanyang mga mata.

"Where's Lilith?!" he asked.

Inakay ko siyang makatayo bago sumagot. "Nakatakas siya."

"You could have caught her Naira!" gigil niyang saad.

"I went to look for you first!" I can't believe him.

"Top priority, to capture or kill Lilith. Never hesitate, you can abandon us, anyone, just be sure to fulfill that." nauna siyang bumalik sa tree house at naiwan akong umiiyak.

I thought what I did was right. I thought we are here to protect, not just to kill.

Lucerne came looking for me and apparently Lilith never laid her hands on the rest of our team.

I was glad for that. But Revv Kindle never spoke to me again, not even after we got back to Poli Mana.

Sermon, sandamakmak na sermon ang inabot naming lahat sa aming pag-uwi. Pati ang kambal na Chan at Ciro ay hindi nakaligtas.

But what shocked me was when Queen Champagne hugged me tightly.

"Welcome home." father was standing at a distant but he was smiling genuinely.

I nodded on the queen as my answer.

Did things change when we sneaked out of the palace? I wonder.

Lumipas ang gabi at lahat kami ay pinagpahinga muna.

Tomorrow is the start of a greater duty. Pagpaplanuhan ang magiging paraan sa pagpili ng papalit kay Silvana bilang Pandaren ng mga Pixie.

"Glad you're back." it was Pan, floating near my window.

"How are things for you?" I asked him.

"It is thanks to you, I got this far. And of course I will repay you for that. My friends were accepted here in the academy." he was looking at him with a glee on his lips, but his eyes are screaming the opposite.

He looks badly hurt inside, devastated, but I don't think I should ask about that.

"I am glad Pan. After these dilemmas, I wish we can spar against each other at some time." offering my hand, he took and held it tightly.

"I wish the same your highness." with that, he left while waving his hand on me.

Hearing that Pan and his friends are already in the academy made me look forward on some things. I don't mind befriending them more, they are fun for me.

As I was about to close the window, a paper in ebony flew in. My brows furrowed in questions.

"It was said that friends will pull you down." the handwriting isn't familiar to me but there's only one person I can think of capable for doing such.

Lady Lachise never liked me from the start, her stares were cold as ice and the way she spoke to me was very formal, unlike Lady Aletheia's approach to me.

I wonder why.

I have heard that the four of them were very close to our blood line, but why am I being treated like an outcast? I'm not an illegitimate child or what not. It really confuses me.

Is it because her future sight never missed? Because never in her life that what she saw didn't come true?

Am I breaking the rules she have set inside her mind that's why she's that mad at me.

If that's the case, I'll break it even more. I'll twist the future in her head more. Her power can never control my life, never.

Gumising ako ng mas maaga sa itinakdang oras kaya nauna akong makarating sa main hall ng Poli Mana, habang ang halos lahat ay sabay sabay na nagsidatingan.

Binati ako ng halos lahat, liban ni Revv at ni Lady Lachise, na hindi ko na pinagtuunan pa ng pansin.

Queen Champagne stood and gave us the formalities before going straight to the meeting's point.

Every mention with Silvana's name, Queen Hueri cries louder while the rest of the siblings silently weep.

"Every Pixie has the right to join in this race." the queen said and I have heard Camilla's excitement which made me gritted my teeth.

Is she that thirsty for power?

"Guerdians will be the stop points in the race. You've got to assess each contender so we can pick out the best Pixie next to the late Silvana." Mom said that with a straight face and Queen Hueri hurried her way outside the hall, King Silver went after her.

"Should we continue this?" my father asked and only a nod coming from the queen was the response.

I know she's being calm and rational, even though it is hurting her friend, and even herself. Being a queen comes with a price, the crown is heavy that it can break someone's mind in the inside.

If she'll let her emotions run through, Arkaios will be at risked. It will only take days or a month before the balance collapses as the Pandarens aren't literally complete as of now.

"We will be giving the Guerdians five days to practice and strengthen out yourselves before we officially open the race." the queen added before adjourning the meeting.

Everyone left except for me and Lady Lachise who's looking intently at me.

"I know it is you who gave me the letter last night." I uttered without hesitations.

"You're really clever Seraphim, but my power has never failed me. I want you out of this race and stay quietly inside your room until we find the replacement for Silvana." her words hit my last button.

How can I stay still when it is my world's sake we are fighting for? It is Silvana who died, I treated her as my own little sister!

"How dare you!" I shouted and three black wheels appeared on my side.

"Even if you fight me, nothing will change. The future I saw is what will happen. Stop your futile struggle, I know that deep inside you, you will betray us, like how our aunt did to our father." I was taken a back with her words, remembering who her father is, who her aunt is.

Trying to make myself calm down, my weapons slowly disappeared and I gave her a heavy sigh.

"I'll prove you wrong, in my own ways Lady Lachise."
