A Year Later

Jinyeong slowly walked down her street hand in hand with Taehyung.

"How's Hoseok liking early graduation?" She asked.

"He likes it from what I can tell. I think he's angry about not seeing you as much, but he's happy. Ever since he broke up with Youngjae, he was a little off. But I was on the phone with him last night and it seems that another pretty face caught his attention."

"Oh who?" She asked excitedly.

The two slowly made their way up to the Min/Kim home, still holding hands.

"Well, apparently his name is Lucas. He's supposedly American, Chinese, and Korean." Taehyung explained.

Jinyeong smiled and opened the door. "Lucky."

"What's wrong with me?" A confused Jungkook walked into the foyer, soon wrapping his arms around Jinyeong.

"Nothing, babe. It's just, well..." Jinyeong trailed off.

"You scored a 4/100 on your English exam. You pretty much blew your chances of international business, bro." Taehyung finished for her.

"Since when were you so rude? Mr. Failed-Chemistry-Because-He-Was-Too-Busy-On-His-Phone." Jungkook replied.

"That was uncalled for" Taehyung shouted as he walked upstairs.

Jungkook turned to Jinyeong and smiled, leaning down and kissing her.

"Hi."
"Hey."

The two made their way to the kitchen, telling each other about their days.
"How's senior year?" Jungkook asked.

"Boring. I don't have any friends other than Yugeyeom. I mean, I have Mark and Taemin, but honestly, I miss spending lunch with you or Hobi." Jinyeong whined while pulling out two banana milks.

"Well, early graduation isn't any better." Jungkook replied, grabbing his milk and drinking. "I mean, I guess the professors are pretty cool, but other than that, it's hardly exciting."

While the two drank and spoke, Jin walked in with a small crate.

"I'm home! Someone come help me with him!" He yelled.

Jinyeong leapt out of her seat.

"Coming!" Jinyeong scrambled out of her chair and ran to Jin, grabbing the crate and immediately running upstairs to her room.

Taehyung poked his head out of the game room, along with Yoongi and Jimin.

"Is someone here?" Yoongi asked sleepily.

"I think Jin came back with Chewbacca." Taehyung replied.

"Taehyung. You can't call him that just because he doesn't like you." Jimin smacked his arm.

"Ow! All dogs like me! Something is wrong with it!" He complained.

Meanwhile, in her room, Jinyeong pulled open the door of the crate, releasing her dog.

"Bean! How was the groomers? Did they treat you well?" Jinyeong held her dog who in turn nuzzled into her and licked her all over.

Jungkook opened the door and Bean ran over to greet him, yapping playfully.

Chuckling, he bent down to pick up the (still) small dog. "Hello, Bean." Bean playfully licked his face, making Jinyeong laugh and Jungkook cringe away. "No, no, Bean, stop, ew ew ew!" Jungkook set down the puppy, who immediately ran over to Jinyeong and sat in her lap.

Sitting down in front of Jinyeong, Jungkook set down a small velvet box.

"Jungkook what is this?" Jinyeong asked.

"A gift. For you." Jungkook replied.

Opening the box, Jinyeong saw two small rings. One was small and the other large, both silver. The large one had a moon engraved into it, with a name written on the inside band that read Jungkook. The smaller one had three stars engraved on it with the name Jinyeong engraved on the inside band. Both rings had small infinity signs engraved on the back.

"Jungkook. These are beautiful. But, you're not asking me to marry you, are you?" She asked.

"No," Jungkook chuckled, "They are promise rings."

"Oh." Slipping on the small one, Jinyeong held it up and noticed that it had a small shimmer in it. "Why is it so shiny?"

"Because. Sterling Silver. Only the best for you." Jungkook replied, slipping his on as well.

"Jinyeong, I promise to love you and cherish you forever. I'm always going to be here for you and I want you to know that." Jungkook spoke quietly, almost as if he were nervous.

"Aw. Jungkook, I love you so so so so so so so much. I'll always be your little star." Jinyeong shed a tear and sat down in Jungkook's lap, giving him a hug.

And Bean barked at them, wanting the attention that they weren't giving him.
