Chapter 4

"Why is Jeon Jungkook texting me?"

Jinyeong looked down at her phone and against her better conscious, clicked the message Jungkook sent her.

@jeonjk hey, uh, I played a game with you and you beat me, so, um, idk. You seem cool. 

"Um...... there is no way this is happening." Jinyeong said (to  no one in particular). "How does he eve- Oh my god!!! I'm such an idiot!"

@pinkpastels Hahaha thanks I guess..... a little creepy that you found me on instagram though.......

@jeonjk oh, um, sorry? idk.... i honestly just looked your name up and.... well..... I just really hoped it was you. 

As Jinyeong was about to reply, she recieved another text, this time from her one and only best friend. 

@raysofhobi hey sorry to leave early.... I didn't mean to spook you and your dad or anyth- wait do you call both of them dad? Isn't that confusing? Don't you ever call one of them and then they both respond and it just gets out of hand or anything? 

Okay that's off topic. I'm sorry...... call??

Jinyeong decided to let Hoseok simmer in his guilt a little while longer, and went back to texting Jungkook, who obviously had no idea it was her he was really talking to. 

@pinkpastels sorry..... friend texted. Honestly, didn't think you had it in you to be a good sport about losing...

@jeonjk you say that like you know me or something... do we go to school together?

@jeonjk  wait seriously? Who the hell are you?! I need to know please please please please pleasepleasepleaseplease

Jinyeong found herself giggling at this new side of Jungkook that she seems to have stumbled across. She then slapped her hand over her mouth. 

"No. No. Jungkook is an ass. I can't find him humorous, cute, fun- Cute?! What the hell? Jinyeong...... get it together."

Jinyeong looked down at her phone and saw that Hoseok was calling her. She picked up and was immediately greeted by loud bickering that seemed to have just started. 

"Um. Hello? Hoseok?" Jinyeong didn't mean to listen in on the conversation. 

"Hoseok you ass! Mom and dad found out I was smoking again and I know you told them!"

"Taehyung, get a life. I didn't tell them anything." Jinyeong heard Hoseok say. 

"Hello? Hoseok why are you with Taehyung? What's going on? Hello? Hello?" Jinyeong said into the phone. 

"Oh my god! You asshole I know you told them. Now I can't hang out with Jungkook for a week, I have to give up my phone and laptop, and on top of that, they are never, ever going to let me go anywhere ever again!" Taehyung all but screamed. 

"You're the worst step-brother ever Tae. I thought maybe I was getting through to you, but apparently not. You're just a self-centered asshole who does nothing but screw shit up all the time." Hoseok replies. 

"Screw you Hoseok!" Taehyung screamed, slamming the door. 

"Oh shit. Jinyeong?" Hoseok noticed that his call was on....... for five minutes. 

"Jinyeong? Did you hear any of that? Jinyeong I can hear you breathing please talk to me." Hoseok said. 

Meanwhile all Jinyeong could do was sit there, dumbfounded. 

Hoseok and Taehyung were step-brothers.

And Jinyeong never knew. 

It wouldn't have been a problem. I mean, Taehyung was an ass and Jinyeong would understand why Hoseok didn't tell her. 

But, it suddenly was a big deal, because Taehyung had been bullying her for years. 

And Hoseok could have stopped it.
