The Right Side

Chapter 13

We are all in the water swimming around and splashing each other for about an hour. We all begin to settle down and Ash pulls out some bottled team and throws one to each of us. Delaney misses hers but Zac catches it. Ash hands mine to me.

"So what are we gonna do about Halloween. I think we should go around mortifying children again." Liam says sipping his drink.

"You are a child." Ash says sipping hers.

"Oh come on you had fun last year!" Liam says and Ash splash's him. "My tea!" He says guarding his tea from the splash. We all laugh.

"I hate to intrude on your festivities but what is Halloween?" I ask quietly.

"You don't celebrate Halloween?!" Zac asks.

"Not even as a child?!" Delaney adds.

"N-no." I say looking down.

"It's okay, darling..." Liam says and Ash throws a pebble at him. "Ouch! Hey what was that about?!"

"Don call her names." Ash mummers.

"Right you are the only one that can call her love and what not." Zac says smiling. And Liam laughs.

"You all suck." Ash says then she turns to me. "Halloween is basically the one day the the dead can come back to the real word. So is said." Ash said picking at her nail.

"Oh..." I get concerned. "I mean that's not good." I whisper.

Ash laughs. "It's okay princess! It's not real. Down here it's just a day that is three like to go around and scare kids just for the fun of it." Ash says laughing.

"Okay let's do it." Liam says and Zac laughs. "Let's scare some kids tonight!"

I'm in Ashes room and she is looking for her closet. She grabs out two black cloaks. "You know you don't have to do this right princess?" Ash says reassuring me.

"Ya I'm good. You know you don't have to go to Blizen." I say.

"No I'm good." She smiles at me. "Plus I would love to see what your side of the world looks like."

"You know you will be weaker there." I say quietly.

"Yes I know. The cold hurts me but I'll be fine." She says handing me a cloak and I put it on her bed. "Come with me."

She takes me into her bathroom and gets out some face paint. She covers my face in the white paint the puts a little bit of black to make my face look like a skull. I look in the mirror and giggle.

She starts doing the paint on herself but messes up. "Hear let me help." I say taking the paint from her and painting her face. She smirks at me.

He green eyes take me in and I am mesmerized. I snap out of my gaze and draw the skull on. She smiles at me then looking in the mirror. She then turns the lights off.

It goes completely black but our faces glow a little showing a skull. I smile and make funny faces. Ash laughs. "Let's go." She says and we put our cloaks on as we leave.

It was a night of standing at a corner and jumping out at kids and laughing. It was such a fun time and I don't want to go back to where I used to call home.
