The Right Side

Chapter 15

Avery's POV

I feel a light rub on my shoulder. "Avery!" I hear Delaney say. I open my eyes and it is pitch black outside. There is a little light coming from a desk lap on my desk across the room.

"What's up D?" I ask rubbing my eyes.

"We are going on the train to the middle. Get ready." Delaney says and I get up. I put on a pair of ripped jeans and a hoodie. One of Ashes hoodies. It smells like her.

I grab my bags and meet Delaney outside. We walk out to a car and I see Ash talking to some guards. I put my luggage in the back of the car and As walks over to me.

"Good morning sleepy head." She says with a slight smile. "You ready to go back home?" She asks me.

"Honestly I'm scared. I don't know what's going to happen." I say looking down. She puts her finger on my chin and lifts it up.

"It's okay to be scared. It's human." She says with a small smile.

"Says you." I say crossing my arms and giggling. She chuckles.

"I'm not human. I am a demon." She say putting her hands in her pocket. "Let's go." She says and we get in the car.

It was a long drive to the train station. Once we get there someone takes our bags and we get on the train. Ash sits next to me.

I look at the watch on Ashes wrist and see that it is 4:30 in the morning. I groan and lay my head down. I eyes close as I drift of too sleep.

Ashes POV

I get on the train and sit next to Avery. I am talking to Zac who is sitting to my right in the other seats with Delaney. I feel a little bit of pressure on my shoulder. I turn my head to see Avery had laid her head on my shoulder.

I clench my jaw. Is she comfortable right now. Is my shoulder to hard? Am I tensing up? I can't more or she will wake up. What has gotten into me?

I read on the train ride. I stay as still as possibles I read. I don't want to wake Avery. I look at her small peaceful self. I want to keep her protected. So bad.

Liam was talking a little too loud and I was scared he was going to wake Avery so I took one of my guitar picks in my pocket and threw it at the back of his head.

He turns. "What?!"

I lift my finger to my mouth and hen point at Avery.

"Well isn't that cute!" Liam says in a hush voice.

"What?!" Delaney asks and then she looks over Zac to see Avery's head on my shoulder.

Zac just chuckles. I shake my head.

"It's alright mate. Ashvery is very much alive." Liam says laughing.

"Ashv- what?!" I ask and that wakes up Avery.

"Hmm. What. Oh I'm sorry." Avery says blushing a little when she sees where her head was.

"Oh ya. No it's all good." I say to her and we keep eye contact for a little bit and then she moves and lays on the window.

I look back at everyone who were just chuckling. I see my dad at the front of the train eyeing me down.

Fight me old man.

Avery's POV

I can't believe I fell asleep on Ashs shoulder!!! I'm so embarrassed!!! Wait why did she let me fall asleep on her shoulder.

I look out the window to the world around me. It's so green. So beautiful. I am so happy I got to see a little bit of the world while I was kidnapped. This was the best thing that has happened to me.

After a few short hours we make it to the end of the train track. We get out and there is a huge wall. It stands 20 meters of brick wall. It is 3 meters thick and covers from ocean to ocean. The world is split evenly from south side and north side. We walk over to a man with a thick mustache. He has a cigar in his mouth that makes me cough.

The man talks to Ashs father than turns to me.

"Hi there little lady." He says and the smoke drifts my way. Ash walks over to him and takes the cigar out of his mouth and drops it on the floor. She steps on it too.

"Oops." She says with a straight face looking the man in the eyes. Liam chuckles and takes Ashs arm to move her away from the man.

We walk past him to a huge gate.

"The only way to each side." Zac says to an awe's truck Delaney.

"That they know about." Ash whispers to me and I giggle.

We walk over half way through the gates when we find angel guards meet us half way.

"Alright hands up!" They day and they do a pat down on everyone. One guard comes over to me.

"Guys... guys it's the princess!" He says and all the Guards hold up Guns to everyone's heads. The demon guards come over and hold up guns to their heads.

"He have a deal with your king. Let us pass. We are coming onto your side after all." The king says in a calm voice.

Zac is holding Delaneys hand.

"Hands where I can see them!" A guard says to ash who is staring straight at the man with her hands to her sides.

"Are you blind or can you seriously not see my hands?" Ash asks and the man presses the gun onto her head.

"Put them up." He says.

"Listen mate I'm not putting my hands up but I am going to beat you to the ground if you don't get this gun away from me." Ash says calmly.

"Ash put your hands up! Show some respect! We are on their side!" Hades snaps at Ash. I walk over to the guard and he looks at me.

"Princess back away." He says. I can see it in his eyes. Ash's glare is scaring him.

"Lower your weapon and let us pass." I say in a controlling voice.

He is hesitant but lowers his weapon. The rest of the angels do the same which causes the demons to lower their weapons. I take Ashs are before she kills any one and lead her to my side.

My side... I wish it wasn't.
