Ash's POV
I walk into Avery's room and she looks up from the book she was reading to smile at me. I give her a light smile but she can see right through me.
"What did she says to you?" She asks closing the book. I walk over to the couch and sit down next to Avery. She turns her body to me and spreads the blanket over both of us.
"Nothing really... just um... stuff..." I say scratching the back of my neck.
"You are a bad liar." She says easily and she pokes my side.
"No i'm not... and i'm not lying... we did talk about stuff." I say spreading my arms over the back of the couch.
"What type of stuff?" Avery asks with an adorable smile. Her messy bun is falling apart and some strands of hair fall on her face.
"Um... protecting you really... that's what it was mainly about." I say and she frowns at me.
"You are being difficult." She puts her hands on my thigh. They look so tiny. I smile down at her hands and look back up at her.
"Well maybe your mother swore me to secrecy and if I say anything I will be cursed." I shrug and she throws her head back with a laugh. I smile as her nose scrunched up on the most perfect way.
"That wouldn't be good." She says with a giggle. I give her a light smile and she cups my face with both her hands. "What is going on inside your brain?"
"Stuff." I say with a shrug and she puts on a playful smirk and she smacks my shoulders.
"Say 'Stuff' one more time! I dare you!" She grins and I just look at her. Avery raises an eyebrow at me.
"What would you do it I said... that word?" I ask her lean in a little closer.
"Oh you don't want to know." She says leaning in close to me so our noses touch.
"I think I do." I whisper.
"Okay i'll tell you..." She says and she moves her lips to be next to my ear. "...stuff." She whispers and I just smirk.
"I think I'm good with that." I say and she smiles. She slowly shifts herself onto my lap so she is now straddling me. I put my hands on her thighs and she grins down at me. She brings her head down to mine so that our lips lightly touch. "Stuff." I whisper on her lips.
"You asked for it." She says while kissing me. Her tongue brushed against my lip. I open my mouth slightly but before I could do anything else she pulls away and gets off my lap. "Oh you thought? Oh no that wasn't the stuff I had planned."
I sigh and smirk at her. "Oh you don't think that I can get you to kiss me?" I say and she shakes her head no with a confidant grin. "It's on."
I stand up and start walking towards her but she runs to the other side of the couch and smiles at me. I jump over the couch but she runs to the other side before I can catch her. I take a pillow and toss it at her. She catches it and I run over to her and pick her up over my shoulders.
"Ash!" She laughs as I lay her on the couch. She looks up at me while I stand next to the couch.
"If I lay on you I am going to crush you." I say looking up and down her body.
"Guess no kiss." She says as she jumps up and over the other side of the couch. I run after her as she runs in the bathroom and locks the door. "I win!" She calls from the other side. I look at the door and sigh. I could break it. Easily.
There is a knock at the door and I walk over and open it. Natasha just walks pass me into the room. "Where is Avery?" She asks looking around.
"She is hiding like a coward." I say loud enough for Avery to hear.
