Avery's POV

I am sitting on the couch in Hades office. Liam and Zac were arguing with him about what to do with me.

"I mean we can't send her back." Liam says protectively.

"Yes we can." Hades says from his desk making my ears pop up.

"No we absolutely can't." Zac said. "Honestly Ash could get herself killed. We need to bring the king over here to settle this."

"Do you honestly think he will come to this side." Ash says lipping through the door. I stand up and go to her.

"You should be in bed." I say strictly. She looks down at me with a light smile but looks back up with her stoic expression to her dad.

"I couldn't spend another second in that hospital bed." She says with a tired accent. She places her hand on my shoulder, "I'll be fine."

"Good now that you are up you can help set up the plan to send Avery back." Hades says standing up from his chair.

"Avery isn't going back...." she looks down at me with soft eyes licking her lip that has a small cut on it, "un-unless you want to." She speaks softly. Did she just stutter?

I shake my head no. "I- uh I can't go back there. He hurts me."

Ash walks over to her father with a slight lip. "We aren't putting her back there. We will have to sign some scrolls so she has the power to choose where she goes. She is a Princess after all."

"Ash we cant just take their princess." Zac whispers as if he doesn't want her to hear it.

"You make us sound like monsters Zac. I mean everyone hears 'Angels' and automatically thinks good guys and people hear 'demons' and think monsters but really... we don't beat people for having different wings. Just because we are born like a mob of gangster. And have because we live with less money and less riches and care than the Angels do doesn't mean we are the monsters...." Ash finishes then looks down and puts her hands on the desk. She closes her eyes for a second.

"Ash-" I start but she cuts me off.

"I'm fine." This comes out harsher then I know she means because she slowly looks up at me and lightly says. "I'm... I'm okay."

"Okay.... how about this.... I put a message out that we are to talk to Francis in 2 hours time. Be back here by then." Hades says then waves his hands to dismiss us.

We all exit his huge doors and we all turn to Ash. "I- uh... I think I'm going to go back to my room and uh... unpack.... Avery.... uh would you mind.... you know... coming with me..." she asks shyly and Liam chuckles.

"Of course." I say lightly taking Ashs are and walking to her room with her. Her limp gets a little bigger each step. When we finally make it to her room I close the door and she lets out a sigh.

"Thank you for joining me..." she says and I look at her face that has a small cut on her lip, bruise on the right side of her jaw, cut above her left eyebrow and another cut on her chin.

I walk up to her and reach my hands up to lightly touch her face. She flitches a little but then lays her head in my hands. Her hands go up to my wrists lightly holding them and closing her eyes.

"When I was younger.... my mother would kiss all my injuries better." I whisper lightly.

"I have way too many injuries to kiss all of them." Ash says chuckling a little.

"I can try..." I lightly say as I pull her face down to me slowly. I softly touch my lips on the cut above her eyebrow. I hold my lips there for about two seconds and then pull away a centimeter. I bring my face over to her jaw and slowly place a soft kiss on the bruise. I pull away again and go to her chin leaving a kiss there and looking up in her eyes.
