Avery's POV

The air is colder. It's not nearly as cold as it is on the mountain that I live on but it's colder then the beaches of what used to be Miami that we were in.

We follow many guards to a helicopter. Ash doesn't let me out of arms reach. When I walk to far for her comfort she tabs the sleeve of my hoodie and pulls me back to her.

We get on the heli and take off towards the mountain. I hate heights. They are horrible. I look out the window then throw my eyes to look back at my lap.

Don't look out the window. I think Ash sees my discomfort and lightly rubs my knee then puts her hands back in her lap.

After a dreadful long time we finally land on my castles helicopter pad. You can see the snow laying on the mountain top. I look at ash and I can see her nose is a little red from the cold already. We all get out onto the mountain.

I am perfectly fine in the weather. All the Demons put there hands in their pockets and zip up their jackets. All of them loose a bit of their tan features. They are all putting on an act. They seem tough but I know this cold is hurting them.

"Hades!" I hear my fathers voice say as he walks out onto the roof. He walks over and shakes Hades hand. "Cold hands there buddy."

"Cold heart- I mean..." Ash says out loud and Zac and Liam laugh.

My father turns to Ash with a shocked face. "Do you have something to say to me girl?"

"Nope I already said it." Ash says and I can see guards starting to tense up.

"Okay then..." My father says then he looks at me. "Now Avery. What are you wearing?" He says with a sigh.

"I-" I don't know what to say. I stay silent.

"She is wearing something that will keep her warm." Liam says defending me. Ash nods at him.

"Right right! Let's go inside!" My father says as he welcomes us inside. When we enter the castle the temperature isn't any better. Usually it's not like that. Usually it's a comfortable temperature inside. My father did this on purpose.

Guards bring us into a large room with many chairs and a big table. "Let me go talk to the chef about dinner!" He says with a cherry smile.

"No we are here to get-" Ash starts but Hades cuts her off.

"Ash... be polite." He says calmly.

"Polite? I want to see Jacob!" Ash demands while hitting her hand on the table making all the angels in the room jump.

"We will get there. First dinner." My father says in a calm tone. Then he leaves the room with a couple trusted guards staying behind.

Ash clenches her jaw and walks over to a corner. I walk over to her. She looks freezing.

"What are you doing in the corner?" I ask her while going and standing next to her.

"I'm getting warmer." She says plainly.

"How... it's the same part of the room." I say looking up at her.

"No it's a corner. It's 90°" she says with a smirk looking down at me. I laugh out loud and she has a small smile.

"That was a good one." I say and she just smiles. I can see the discomfort in her eyes. "Here give me your hands." I say and I put my hands out.

"What?" She asks.

"Give me your hands!" I say and she takes her hands out of her pockets and hands then to me. I take them in mine. They are like ice cubes melting in my warm hands.

"Woah.." Ash whispers in a hush voice. "How are you so warm?" She asks and looks at me in complete shock.

"I have lived here my whole life. This is nothing to me. Plus angels give off more body heat." I say and she keeps her hands in mine.

She looks down at our hands and stares at them. She ten looks back at me and I stare into her emerald green eyes.

We hear the door open again and Ash pulls her hands out of mine and goes back to warrior mode.

"Soup is here!" A chief says with waiters putting bowls of soup on the table. Liam, Zac and Delaney rush to sit down and start eating the warm bread and soup. Hades takes his time walking over and sitting down. Ash just stands there.

My father walks in. "Avery come join the Angels for diner darling." He says in a demanding matter. Not a kind caring one.

I hesitate and he glares at me with murder in his eyes. I walk forward but Ashs arm, that also feels cold even through my hoodie, stops me. It's not as strong as it normally is. But I still wouldn't test her.

"I think you are forgetting that she is still our prisoner. You can go with you when we have Jacob." Ash says and I see anger in my fathers eyes.

Prisoner? That's all she thinks I am. She is willing to get rid of me as soon as she gets Jacob back.

Of course she is.

"Right..." my father says then he nods at a guard that goes over to Ash and stands right in front of her.

"Are you threatening me?" Ash asks my father looking over the guard. She is taller than him by an inch or two.

"No... I'm warning you." My father says calmly. "Come on Avery lets go."

"I look at him then Ash. I want her to save me.

She takes my wrist. It looks like it would hurt me but it is gentle.

The guard hits Ashs arm and she elbows him in the face. He stumbled back and falls on the floor. The rest of the guards are holding guns at her head.

"Go ahead do it." Ash says looking at my father.

"Put down your weapons." My father says after a long moment of silence. "Enjoy your meals." He says as he leaves with guards following him. One guard helps the guard that Ash hit up and helps him walk out.

Ash looks at me with soft eyes. "I'm sorry I hurt one of your Angel friends..." she whispers. I could barely hear it.

I giggle a little. "He isn't my friend." I whisper back and she nods.

My father is going to kill her.
