Avery's POV
Ash pulls me up for another kiss. Our lips meet and move against each other. I feel how cold her lips are and break away.
"We should go inside." I say and she nods. I take her hand inside. There is a knock at the door. I walk her over to the closet. "One second." I call.
I close her in the closet and then go and open the door. It is a guard with a tray of desserts. I thank him and close the door. Ash comes out.
"Who knew you would hide someone in your room." Ash says winking at me and walking over to the dessert cart. "What is all this." She asks confused.
"This is desserts... not Carrots and brown sugar." I say picking up and brownie and hold it up to her face. She takes a bite and chews a little. When she smiles she nods her head.
"Are you just trying to get me fat?" She asks and I laugh.
"No it's just tradition." I say laughing.
"Quick question." She says walking over to my gas fire place as she starts it. "Why don't they let you down there?"
"Because they are scared I will fall in love with someone I'm not supposed to. I'll meet a farm boy and sneak off with his. That's what they don't want." I say as she rubs her hands over the fire and walks back over to me.
"Oops... so... I'm breaking rules right now." She says smirking. I turn to her with another dessert. I smile lightly at her. She stares in my eyes.
We stare for a minute when she looks down at the dessert. "What in the world is that" she asks poking it.
I laugh. "This is pudding, and you aren't supposed to poke it." I say laughing. She looks at the chocolate pudding on her finger and puts it on my nose. I roll my eyes.
"What?!" She says laughing.
"Why do you always put food on my nose?!" I ask and she smiles.
"It's cute." Is all she said.
"Well could you get it off?" I ask and she has a devious smirk. She kisses my nose taking the pudding with her. She smirks at me and I am as red as her hair. "That's not what I meant." I stutter out.
"Be more specific next time, love." She says and goes and lays in my bed. I roll my eyes and wipe my nose with a napkin. There was still a little bit of pudding on it. I went and sat down next to her.
"How did you get here?" I ask.
"Well... I saw your eyes when we took off. As soon as I got home and settled Jacob in and flew over here." She tells me.
"But you have to get passed the guards at the gates." I say confused.
"I told you that that main gate was the only entrance, that that know of." Ash says with a sly smirk.
I push her shoulder. She doesn't move. "That's illegal!"
"Mhm... what else is illegal here?" She asks me playfully and I smile.
"Breaking into the palace, talking to me, making me smile. Cause god forbid I smile. Starting a fire in the fire place cause only current people are allowed to do that." Ash laughs a little.
"Looks like I'm breaking a lot of rules." She says and she slowly takes my hand and laces our fingers. "Is these illegal?" She asks making me blush.
"Very." I whisper and she nods.
"I try." She says with a light smile. I lay my head on her shoulder.
"Thank you for coming back." I whisper.
"It wasn't like I had a choice. My wings just took me." Ash says playfully.
"Wait demon wings do that?" I say lifting my head up to look at her and she laughs.
"No, I was kidding." She says lightly and then she looks at her watch. "Ave... I can't stay here much longer. You need some sleep. You haven't slept all day."
"You need sleep too." I point out.
"I know I will go to the barn and make a fire to stay warm." She says getting up but I keep a hold on her hand getting up with her.
"Absolutely not." I say planting my feet down. She turns back to me and brushes hair out of my face. "Are aren't going to sleep with the animals." I say suddenly feeling confident and pulling her closer to me.
"I can't stay here. It's illegal." She says with a smirk but I frown at her.
"You said you wouldn't leave me again." I point out.
"That was kinda so that I could kiss you." She says chuckling a little and I smack her shoulder. "Abuse much?" She says looking at her shoulder than me.
"I'm the Princess of this side of the world and I say that you stay with me." I say getting in the tips of my toes to talk to her. She smiles and lifts me up. She puts me on a chair. Now my chin can rest on her head. That's how tall she is and how short I am.
"Better?" She asks and I cross my arms. "Fine I'll stay!" She says and I smile. I cup her face with my hands and lean own to kiss her lightly. Her top lip goes in between my lips. She pulls back a little bit comes back for another kiss. Our noses boop as she changes the position of her face.
I finally pull back needing air. She tries to follow but this time I'm taller and she can't. "You are the first person I have ever kissed." Slips out of my mouth as I blushed at my words.
She smirks lightly. "I thought so." She says winking at me.
"What's that supposed to mean? Am I that bad of a kisser?" I ask smiling and she takes me off the chair so she is back to being taller than me.
"Absolutely not, you are an amazing kiss, love, I just meant you told me you aren't allowed out of the castle. And you don't seem like the type of woman to kiss a man because it makes her daddy happy." Ash says and I smile at her.
"Mhm that's what I thought." I say with an attempted smirk. She laughs. I get under the covers of my bed and she gets in and joins me. She finds my hand under the covers. And I smile as we both drift off to sleep.
