Raiya's POV:
I opened my eyes as sunlight poured in from my window. I groaned and Seb woke up from the rumble of my chest.
"Sorry, bud. I have to get ready."
He gave me a small meow before jumping off my chest and snuggling onto my pillow. I stood up and headed to my closet, taking out a red shirt and some jeans. I changed slowly, already dreading school. I grabbed my bag and opened the door of my bedroom, heading downstairs with Seb trailing behind me. I noticed the house was empty and grabbed a bar of chocolate from the fridge.
"Time to go," I muttered.
I opened the front door to see Yukiko already waiting for me, typing furiously on her phone.
"Morning," I said.
She looked up and smiled at me.
"Good morning, Rai. Let's go."
We reached school quickly and headed to our first class, Japanese Literature. I heard the sounds of squealing coming from the classroom and I looked at it wearily.
"What's going on now?"
We walked in and noticed two new students in the class. One was a blonde male who sat in my usual seat, snoozing away and in front of him was the other, a purple-haired male who had a teddy bear in his hands, glaring at the girls.
"Holy shit the blonde is hot," Yukiko said.
I saw a smirk ghost his lips but it disappeared in a second.
"That's weird. Did he hear us?" I muttered.
I walked up to him, putting on a smile as I slammed my bag onto the desk. He opened one of his blue eyes before they widened slightly. He sat straight up but seemed to realize something before closing his eye again.
"You're in my seat. Could you do me a favor and find another one?"
"No. I don't see your name on it."
The smile stayed on my face but an irk mark appeared on my forehead. I grabbed the back of his sweater and dragged him to another seat, giving him a closed eye smile. He looked a bit shocked that I was able to do that.
"I hope you enjoy your stay here new kid."
I went back to my seat, plopping into it and staring out the window as I heard Yukiko's laughter echo beside me.
"Yukiko, please be quiet," I said as politely as I could, a tight smile on my face.
"That was fucking hilarious." she snorted.
Suddenly, the purple-haired kid in front of me turned around, sniffing the air before his eyes settled on me. He looked startled before a creepy grin came onto his face.
"Give me it."
"Excuse me?"
"I smell chocolate on you. Give it to me."
"No," I said, grinding my teeth in irritation.
"You're nothing but scum. I can easily kill you, worm. NOW GIVE ME CHOCOLATE."
I took the bar out of my bag, grinning as I took a big bite out of it, chewing with my mouth open. I swallowed before speaking again.
"Little kids like you shouldn't be in high school."
He gripped his teddy bear tightly and if glares could kill someone, I would be six feet under. Before he could retort, the teacher walked in looking as tired as ever.
"Ah, I see we have two new students. Introduce yourselves please," he said.
Both of them didn't answer, the blonde one busy listening to music and sleeping while the purplette was still glaring at me.
"Or not. Okay, well, we'll be reading a few poems. Grab a partner and do whatever." he muttered, sitting down and putting his head on the table, instantly falling asleep.
"Looks like he's had one too many drinks again." I snickered.
"He needs a wife ASAP."
Suddenly, the new student in front of me grabbed Yukiko's arm, smirking triumphantly.
"You will be my partner."
"But-"
He didn't give her time to finish her sentence before he forced her into the seat next to him. I felt my eyebrow twitch and I looked around for a partner, noticing everyone was already taken except for a certain blonde.
"Purple fucker," I mumbled under my breath, only meant for me to hear.
My luck seemed extra bad today because he turned around, purple orbs bright with anger.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!"
"How did you even fucking hear that?" I said, a bit amazed.
I felt someone take the seat next to me and I looked to my side to see the blonde now in Yukiko's seat.
"Kanato. Not in school."
Kanato mumbled a few words to himself before turning around and talking to his teddy bear. The blonde next to me turned and stared at me while I read the poem, my cheeks beginning to hurt from how much I had to force the smiles today.
"Can I help you?"
"Yui..." he muttered.
"Yui? I don't know a Yui. My name is Raiya, idiot."
"Hmm, you look like someone I used to know."
"Used to?"
He didn't answer and closed his eyes, falling asleep once again. I gripped my pencil tightly in irritation, nearly breaking it in two. I shook my head and finished up my work, putting it on the teacher's desk. I watched as Yukiko tried to get Kanato to work but he simply ignored her, in his own little world. I rolled my eyes and looked out at the garden, feeling a small smile come onto my face. The bell rang, signaling the class was over.
"Don't forget to read whatever it is that you were assigned." he yawned before walking out of the classroom.
I grabbed my bag quickly and pulled Yukiko with me, exiting the classroom.
"That was painful." I groaned, rubbing my cheeks.
"Stop smiling so much and you won't be in so much pain."
"Shut up. What's our next class again?" I said, massaging my temples, a headache coming on.
"Gym."
I groaned.
"God, why does the gym have to exist?" I whined.
Yukiko giggled and dragged me to the locker room where we quickly got changed. We entered the gymnasium to be met with familiar squeals.
"Not again." I rolled my eyes. "Let's just hope this class won't be as bad as earlier."
