18-Acquaintance?

Raiya's POV:

I was on Subaru's back as he piggy-backed me to the park.

"Onwards, my horse!"

He sighed, just playing along as he calmly walked towards a bench. He tried to put me down but my grip on his neck was strong, nearly making him choke. I let go, giggling as I ran towards the swings.

"Come on, Subaru! Push me."

He came over, a scowl plastered on his face. He pushed me gently, letting the wind cool my slightly warm body down. I moved to jump, soaring through the air but it didn't go as well as it did last time. I ended up scratching my knee as I tripped on my landing.

"Idiot!" Subaru cursed, running to me.

I laughed awkwardly, ignoring the stinging sensation.

"I'm fine, Subaru. It's just a scratch."

"Like hell you are. Why do you always find a way to hurt yourself?"

He knelt in front of me, taking my leg and examining the wound. He paused, the aroma of my blood drifting into his nose. His red eyes glowed brighter than usual and I looked around, noticing no one was here.

"Y-you can have some." I stuttered.

He inhaled sharply at my offer before nodding, his wet muscle coming out of his mouth to collect the blood off my knee. I squirmed in discomfort from the pain but it soon disappeared, leaving only the sensation of Subaru's tongue.

"S-Subaru," I whispered.

He bit into my shin, slurping loudly. I held onto his hair tightly, feeling myself weakening from him taking my life essence away from me. He moaned into my skin, fangs digging deeper until it almost hit my bone. I tapped his shoulder, feeling my vision start to blacken. He pulled away, licking the stray drops of my blood from his chin.

"Sorry," he muttered.

"Don't apologize, idiot. I told you I was fine with it, didn't I?" I said, flicking his forehead.

I suddenly felt a drop of water on my forehead and I looked up, fat drops landing all over my face.

"What a coincidence. This happened when we first came here too."

I closed my eyes, inhaling the smell of the rain but that didn't last long as Subaru carried me up.

"Uh, what do you think you're doing?"

"I don't need you getting sick, idiot."

"But the rain-"

He looked down, eyes widening before he looked away with a blush on his cheeks. I noticed my white shirt had now become see-through, my white bra showing through. I shrugged, not really caring. Subaru brought us under a gazebo that I had never known was in the park.

"Woah, how did you find this place?"

"I was looking for a place to be by myself and I came across this," he said, placing me down on the bench.

The gazebo overlooked a garden of flowers, all blooming brightly and colorfully.

"It's nice here, Subaru. Thanks for showing me it."

"It's nothing special," he muttered.

I smiled as he sat next to me, putting my head on his shoulder. The quick shower was beginning to stop and the sun was shining through the clearing clouds.

"Hey, what do you think is going to happen to us now? We only have a month together left." I asked.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, for one thing, your father and Kento are our biggest threats. And from what it sounds like, the Mukamis could also pose as a threat."

"Talking bad about us, M-Neko chan?"

Subaru stiffened and I clicked my tongue, turning around and noticing the Mukami brothers behind us.

"And what are you guys doing here?"

"We wanted to go out since its such a nice day! I'm lucky that we've found you here."

The giant one looked down at my chest appreciatively with a grin and I rolled my eyes, crossing my hands over my chest. Subaru growled, taking off his grey shirt and forcing it onto my body. It went mid-thigh and he nodded in approval. I ogled at his chest and abs, drooling mentally. He noticed, giving me a small grin.

"Pervert."

I blushed and looked away, mumbling about how it was his fault for looking so good. Suddenly, my leg was grabbed and Kou now sat in front of me, inhaling the place where Subaru bit me. I squealed and pulled away, Subaru grabbing my wrist and teleporting us a few feet away.

"Subaru-kun~ Don't you know sharing is caring?"

"Shut the fuck up, Kou. She's not someone you can touch so easily."

"Fufu, does Subaru-kun have a little crush?"

"She chose me as her Adam."

Kou's giggling stopped as his smile instantly turned into a frown.

"What?"

"I am not using the term your dumb father chose, Subaru. You said it multiple times; you're my boyfriend."

He nodded, giving me a smile that he only showed when I was around. I felt my heartbeat speed up as our faces naturally closed in, forgetting about our little audience. Ruki let out a small cough and I turned away the last second resulting in Subaru kissing my cheek. He clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"Why are you all still here?"

"Well, although we originally came here to steal Eve here-"

Subaru's expression hardened at Ruki's words.

"There's no point now. We can simply become acquaintances."

"Aquantices," I repeated in an unamused tone.

"That's right piglet! We'll become your friends!"

"Being...friends with....Eve...sounds fun."

I sweatdropped at their enthusiasm.

"Uh, thanks for the offer but I won't become your friends unless you earn it. Heck, I haven't even become friends with those Sakamaki idiots."

Ruki nodded.

"Very well. We will see you tomorrow."

"Bye, M-Neko chan~"

They all disappeared, leaving me and Subaru alone. My mouth was open, my mind unable to comprehend.

"What just happened?"

"Tch, ignore those half-bloods dumbasses. Focus on me only."

"Aww, is my little Susu in need of attention?"

"Susu?!"

"Mhmm! It's your new nickname! Creative isn't it?"

"You can only fucking call that when we're alone or else Ayato and Laito won't stop bothering me about it."

"Fine, when we're with them, I'll just call you Su. Better?"

He nodded and I laid my head on his shoulder once again. We spent the rest of the day talking until our throats were raw while watching the sun set over the flower beds.
