Raiya's POV:
I sat in my car with Subaru in the passenger seat, the school parking empty. He was polishing his knife, as usual, and I was scrolling through my phone.
"So, I'm going to drag him out onto the roof where you'll surprise him and use that knife to end that useless life of his," I said nonchalantly.
"Mhm."
Even with the feeling of resent and hate going through me, it was still my first time killing someone. My body shook ever so slightly, a normal human wouldn't be able to see but Subaru wasn't human. He pulled me into a hug and rubbed my back while his scent calmed me down.
"We don't have to do this," he said gruffly.
I shook my head, pushing his chest lightly so I could look him in the eye. I put my hand on his cheek and he closed his red eyes, leaning into my touch.
"I know but something in my gut telling me it needs to be done. You won't leave me for this will you, Susu?"
He growled, pulling me into a kiss. I melted at his touch and the usual sparks were there, his tongue easily prodding my mouth. We pulled away, both out of breath.
"I'll never leave you, Raiya."
I smiled softly at his response.
"I can't leave an idiot like you by herself."
My smile turned into a fake pout as I punched his chest playfully. I gave him a peck on the cheek as the bell rang, reaching my car.
"I'll see you in a few minutes."
He disappeared, leaving me in the car alone. I sighed as I walked out of the vehicle alone, missing the albino who always stuck to my side. Walking alone was only bait for Kento, both me and Subaru knowing that he would follow me if I didn't have my boyfriend by my side. I idly walked through the halls, ignoring the shouts of the teacher that told me to go to class. The noises died down, leaving my footsteps echoing throughout the hall. The peaceful atmosphere was cut off when I felt a murderous aura from behind me and to accompany that, heavy footsteps growing alarmingly closer. I ran towards the stairs, going up those flights the fastest I've ever gone. I slammed the door to the roof open, running as far as I could before a hand wrapped around my wrist, pulling me backward. I looked up to see Kento with a blank look on his face but his eyes gave him away. They had the glint that I've seen before, one that haunted my dreams.
"Let me go." I hissed.
"Where's that boyfriend of yours, Rai? Don't tell me he left you because you're a whore?"
An irk mark appeared on my forehead and I punched him across the jaw, shaking my hand as pain bloomed in my knuckles. He held his jaw in shock before he grinned, giving me Kanato vibes.
"I'll play with you but first."
He grabbed a potted plant and threw it at high speed in the opposite direction of me, where the shadows were strongest. Subaru came out of his spot with his knife in hand, barely dodging it.
"There you are. I'm going to kill you first."
He reappeared in front of Subaru, moving to punch him but his reactions were fast, moving out of the way. Subaru kicked him in the side successfully but Kento wasn't fazed, grabbing Subaru's foot and bending it at a weird angle. I cringed at the cracking sound. After a few minutes of exchanging hits, Kento was on top of Subaru, the knife a few feet away from him. Subaru actually looked like he was having a hard time as he dodged all of Kento's hits and I made brief eye contact with him. He nodded as he pushed Kento off and I ran for the knife, scooping it into my hands. I held it in front of me, looking around but Kento and Subaru were nowhere to be seen. I let my guard down but that was a big mistake. Kento appeared behind me, his hand tightly gripping the hand that was gripping the knife. His nails dug into my skin, drawing blood and I hissed, dropping the weapon.
"Ahh, I forgot how good your blood smelt."
He pulled my wrist up to his nose, inhaling deeply before his face made its way to my neck. I struggled against him but it did nothing as he ruthlessly tore his fangs into the delicate skin of my jugular. My eyes widened as I cried out in pain, only encouraging him to drink dangerously fast. His loud slurps were the only thing I heard as black dots clouded my vision.
"Su..." I whispered into the air.
Suddenly, I heard the sound of something entering the skin and the leech on my neck stopped, growling as he pulled away. We both looked behind to see Subaru there, his knife embedded deeply into Kento's back.
"Go to hell, bastard."
"You f-"
He couldn't finish his sentence as he turned to dust, letting Subaru's knife fall to the floor. I almost fell but Subaru caught me, his tongue instantly licking the wounds. I fought to keep my eyes open as I looked at Subaru's worried expression.
"Hey, we won didn't we?"
He nodded, brushing my bangs off of my forehead before giving it a kiss.
"You did so great, my Rose."
I smiled softly at his nickname for me and I lifted my hand weakly, Subaru instantly grabbing. He gave me both a reassuring squeeze and a smile.
"Am I going to die, Su?"
"Of course not, idiot," he said but I could hear the slight panic in his voice.
I chuckled lightly, tasting the blood on my tongue. I moved up slowly, giving him a slow kiss, pouring all of my emotions into it. My head collapsed onto his shoulder as my eyes closed.
"I love you, Subaru," I whispered.
The last thing I heard was his shouts before I was met with darkness.
