Raiya's POV:
Ever since what had happened between me and Subaru a few nights ago, we became much closer. I was walking to school beside him with his brothers behind us as I casually talked, receiving slightly longer answers than before. Today was pretty cold so I opted on Subaru's large jacket along with a sweater underneath and some jeans. Subaru was wearing a red T-shirt along with some black trousers and I looked at him questioningly.
"Are you not cold?"
"Of course not," he said gruffly.
"Here, I'll give this back to you."
I took off the jacket and handed it to him only for him to place it back on my shoulders.
"I'm not weak like you. You need it more anyways."
I smiled up at him, squeezing his cheek.
"Oh, a tsundere. That's so cute."
"S-SHUT UP. DON'T TOUCH ME."
I rolled my eyes as I pulled away, giving him a pout.
"Don't be mean, Subaru. I know you love the attention."
I snickered, walking slightly faster.
"YOU!"
I turned and faced him, sticking my tongue out until I hit something hard. Arms grabbed my shoulder and I turned forward, looking at one of the boys I had seen with Kou. This one had black hair with white tips and a black choker around his neck. He was holding some sort of book and everything about him screamed edge lord. I was suddenly pulled away from him and Subaru pushed me behind him, growling.
"What are you doing here?"
I was suddenly pulled in another direction and I frowned, not liking how I was being treated like a rag doll. Kou's face made itself comfortable next to my neck, sniffing lightly.
"Raiya!"
I elbowed the male behind me hard and he let me go, groaning. I went back to Subaru's side, crossing my arms. Two other boys showed up, a giant and a boy covered in bandages. I eyed the one in bandages, feeling a motherly urge come over me.
"He's so cute," I whispered.
"He's not so cute when you get to know the real Azusa," Shu said from behind us, yawning.
I totally forgot the rest of the brothers were still here, giving me a small surprise. Reiji stepped forward, pushing up his glasses.
"And what are you four doing here now?"
"We're all going to your guys' school now!" Kou said excitedly.
I sweatdropped as the Sakamaki brothers' expressions instantly darkened. I grabbed Subaru's hand and tugged on it.
"Let's just go. Don't mind them." I said softly.
He didn't budge but after a few more comforting words from me, he finally moved.
"I'll see you in class, M-Neko chan!"
I shook my head and continued walking, not looking back. I saw Yukiko waiting at the entrance of the school and I waved at her. The female's eyes widened as she looked down at our hands, which haven't let go of each other since the meeting with Kou and his friends. I let go, turning slightly pink.
"Sorry."
"You don't have to apologize."
I looked back and noticed his cheeks were pink too, making my cheeks turn darker. We stood there awkwardly until he spoke first.
"Let's go to class," he said gruffly.
I nodded and followed behind him as Yukiko made her way next to me.
"What was that all about?" she asked excitedly.
I pushed her face away, frowning.
"Nothing."
"Yeah right! Your face-"
I covered her mouth, glaring at her with a look on my face that said don't talk. She nodded and I pulled her away from behind Subaru, waiting for him to turn the corner.
"Can you be any louder?" I growled.
"Sorry! You know, your mask is actually falling Rai. Especially around that Subaru guy."
I sighed, looking out the window.
"I know. But he's a special case. I can't leave him alone."
"Why can't you leave him alone?"
"I can't tell you Yu. Maybe in the future but not right now."
"Ok, I trust that you're making the right decisions Rai. Let's go to class."
I nodded gratefully and walked with her to class, sitting behind Subaru as usual. Suddenly, the door burst open and Kou and the giant walked in. I made eye contact with them, which I regret dearly. They walked over to our table and I saw Yukiko fangirling out of the corner of my eye.
"Hi there M-Neko chan!"
I ignored him, flicking eraser bits into Subaru's hair.
"OH MY GOD, YOU'RE KOU MUKAMI!" Yukiko screamed and I held my ear from the loud noise.
"Ara, it looks like I have a fan!"
"Ah, if you're a fan, I have an idea!" I said.
I stood up and moved to the seat on Subaru's right, giving Yukiko a thumbs up. She was literally shaking with excitement as Kou hesitantly took the seat and I faced the front of the room again.
"You were throwing eraser bits into my hair again weren't you?" Subaru asked.
I shrugged.
"Maybe, maybe not." I grinned.
Suddenly, the sound of a chair screeching filled the room and I felt a presence beside me, fairly large. I looked to my right and noticed the giant taking the seat next to me. I scooted closer to Subaru, frowning.
"So piglet, will you let me suck your blood?"
"PIGLET?!" I screeched.
"Suck your blood?" Yukiko asked, confused.
"Yuma! You heard what Ruki said!"
"Tch, I don't care. I'm thirsty."
"Don't mind him. He's crazy. If you want something to drink, drink water." Kou said with a tight-lipped smile.
"Hmph."
I moved my hand to dust the eraser bits out of Subaru's hair, mildly surprised at how soft it was.
"Wow, Subaru. I'm jealous of your hair."
I eased my fingers through his white locks, not noticing the blush that had dusted his cheeks. I heard a cough behind us and Yukiko was staring wide-eyed at my wandering hand. I pulled away quickly and held my warm hand in wonder.
"Oops." I laughed awkwardly.
The rest of the class was filled with silence, with me forcing Subaru to play tic-tac-toe with me. My heart was beating strangely and it ached in a certain way.
'What is this feeling?'
