Raiya's POV:
I and Subaru stood in front of the gate of the plane with his brothers, my hand stubbornly gripping his. I had a small pout on my face and my eyes were still red from all the crying I had done earlier in the morning. Never had I thought that this day would come so soon.
"Flight number 277 leaving for Tokyo, Japan will be boarding shortly. I repeat, flight number 277 leaving for Tokyo, Japan will be boarding shortly. Thank you." a female voice sounded through the intercom.
I bit my tongue harshly as my lip quivered, tears threatening to fall again. I pushed my face harshly into the back of his black jacket, not brave enough to show everyone my expression at the moment.
"You guys can go first." I heard Subaru's voice out.
I waited for their footsteps to fade for reassurance before I came out from behind him, sniffling quietly. He sighed and turned around, his large hand settling on my head as he ruffled my hair.
"Stop crying."
"No," I said, looking away.
I felt his thumb lightly brush my wet cheek and I looked up into his red eyes, seeing the hesitation in them.
"You know it's going to be hard for me if you keep crying," he whispered roughly.
"Then don't leave. It's as simple as that." I growled back.
He huffed, bringing me into his chest. I inhaled his floral scent, knowing that this would be the last time I smelt it for a long time.
"Don't do that, Rose. You know that I don't want to leave either but its His orders."
I gripped his shirt a fraction tighter, not liking that he mentioned his father.
"That bastard can kiss my a-"
He cut me off, giving me a chaste kiss. I smiled, kissing back with the same amount of enthusiasm he was putting into it. We pulled away, both a bit out of breath.
"You sure do know how to shut me up, huh?" I grinned, feeling my mood lighten a bit.
He chuckled softly, giving my forehead a peck before grabbing my hand and placing something in it. I looked to see his silver knife sitting in my palm, the jewels shining eerily.
"What is this for?" I asked curiously.
"I won't be around to protect you so this will take my place temporarily. It'll also be something to remember me by so don't you dare and try to forget me."
Biting the inside of my cheek, I gave him a sheepish grin.
"Wouldn't dream of it. That reminds me."
I reached into his pocket and pulled out his smartphone, opening the camera. Flipping it, I threw up a peace sign with a bright smile.
"Cheese."
I didn't let Subaru prepare as I clicked the button, making the shutter sound off. I looked at the picture, Subaru's face blurry causing me to burst out into laughter.
"We're redoing that," he growled out.
I rolled my eyes and reluctantly agreed, flipping the camera once more. I counted off this time.
"3, 2, 1, cheese!"
I felt his lips brush in time with the sound and my mouth opened in surprise. He grabbed his phone quickly, amusement decorating his features.
"Cute." he murmured.
Our moment was cut short by the same lady over the intercom.
"Last minute boarding for passengers on flight number 277 leaving for Tokyo, Japan, please come to the gate. Thank you."
