The Ultimate Goal

"The winner of the first round and moving on to the next is Aaron of Vaniville Town."

"Moving onto the third round as victor his second round battle is Aaron."

"Druddigon is unable to battle so Slowbro and Aaron are the victors moving into the quarter final."

"As victor of his quarter final battle, Aaron of Vaniville moves into the semi final."

From the original sixty four contenders, only four remained, including myself and Calem who had registered for the tournament just in time. Right now, I was sat with Elaine and the rest of the group, watching Calem's semi final battle. The bout was coming to but even from where I was sat, I could see that my neighbour had a plan up his sleeve, guaranteeing his chances of winning.

"We're stronger together! Charizard, mega evolve!"

The entire stadium cheered once more as they were treated to mega evolution once again during the tournament.

The blue and black mega stone attached to the fire lizard's wrist began to glow bright orange. Beams of energy connected with those emitted from Calem's key stone, causing a blinding light to engulf Charizard.

Charizard's wings changed in shape as they extended further out. The fire at the end of his tail burned brighter and with more power. Two horns protruded from either shoulder of the fire lizard's shoulders. As the light dissipated, he had changed colour, now black scaled with a blue underbelly, a direct contrast to its previous colours. Bright blue flames were being constantly emitted from his larger mouth, Charizard's increased fire power clear to see.

Calem's opponent had been able to keep up with the intense tempo that he had set early on, but now the game was being changed. However, the opposing Swampert was not backing down from the battle.

Even despite the clear type disadvantage, Calem and Charizard were able to gain the upper hand and maintain their early lead throughout the battle.

"Charizard, use dragon claw!"

"Swampert counter with rock slide!"

Numerous large boulders rained down from the sky, but the fire lizard pokemon was able to gracefully avoid each of them, closing the distance between his opponent and him. Now at close range, the large glowing green claws connected with their targets, causing Swampert to recoil back in pain.

"Use hydro pump!"

At such close range, the attack was a guaranteed hit. However, Charizard swiftly evaded the attack, countering with a powerful crunch attack. Swampert was forced onto the ground once more, but his determination prevailed as he stood back up to his feet once more.

"Rock slide again Swampert!"

Charizard didn't need a call from his trainer as he took to the skies, clear from the attack. Using the fire pokemon's aerial advantage, Calem called out for him to stay above the opponent. All Swampert could do was try to bring his opponent to the ground with successive hydro pumps, but to no avail.

"Charizard, finish the battle with fire blast!"

From the skies, the black dragon pokemon prepared his attack. In no time, a huge ball of blue fire was fired toward its target, making direct contact. Both battlers already knew what the outcome of the battle was. The mud fish pokemon was thrown onto the floor before his trainer, unable to battle any more.
