"So you finally decided to show up."
A loud voice bellowed through the room, the echoes reverberating around the large open area. In the short time Lysandre had been champion, he had completely changed the appearance of the champion's room.
The coloured glass mosaic on the floor had been painted over in red, black and orange depicting a large flame on the glassy floor. The white stone pillars had been replaced by ones of black colour but of the same size. There was a lack of lighting in the room, the only light source being the orange flames dotted around sparsely. A large glowing red rock hung from the center of the roof, providing little illumination to the darkened room.
In the faint light, I could make out the body shape of Lysandre who sat on the champion's throne. He appeared relaxed, unwavered as I stepped into the room. As he stood up from the golden throne, larger torches were lit up, illuminating the room more. Now I could make out my opponent as he stood bathed in the orange luminescence.
"Malva told me everything. You're an evil man Lysandre."
My words seemed to mean nothing to them man as his lips pulled into a menacing smile. His eyes wore the same steeled gaze that had become so familiar to me. He unfolded his arms, but not to send out his first pokemon. Slowly, he crossed the battlefield, approaching me. I was hesitant as first, the muscles in my body tensing up.
"Why were you gifted with Arceus' omniscience? A mere child whose aspirations had never reached further than his hometown. Prove to me why you deserve this gift, Aaron."
I remained silent, not wanting to react to Lysandre's intimidating words. I furrowed my brow, my eyes beginning to uncontrollably burn once more. There was nothing I could do as I felt my irises burn away, dissipating into the air.
With an evil grin plastered on his face, Lysandre stepped forward, crouching slightly to see on my eye level.
"You will turn away from this room once you are shown the truth, Aaron."
His words trailed off as my vision started to become brighter, until all I saw was a white light. Lysandre held the palms of my hands to his temples as he forced me to descend into another vision.
---
Slowly, my eyes fluttered open, trying to adjust to the light. Frantically, I searched around for a sign of life in the whitened void, but to no avail. A small voice from beside me caused my body to involuntarily jump as I turned around. I could have sworn that I was alone, but I was wrong as Lysandre's body appeared in front of my eyes.
No more words were spoken, making me unsure if he had even said anything in the first place. Quietly, he stepped closer to me, my surrounding vision beginning to alter slightly. The bright light faded away as rain clouds started to form overhead.
The gloomy clouds hung over a grassy field, threatening to burst at any second. Rows of grey coloured headstones littered the field. I recognised where we were now stood, an ominous fog hung in the air.
Not to far from where I was stood, I could see the gathering of a small group of people. Two spruce wood boxes lay on the ground beside two deep holes in the ground. The boy who stood closest to the coffins didn't look much older than me. Short bright orange hair sat atop his head, giving me an idea of who the boy was. A solemn expression was displayed on his face as he held his gaze onto the floor, not flinching as the rain started to pour down.
