The day had finally come around where Elaine and Serena would compete in the Performing Masterclass. Both performers had trained tirelessly the day before, wanting to perfect their routines and their performing skills.
"Are you guys pumped? You're both going to kill it!"
Tierno spoke with a passion I hadn't seen before. I guessed he was excited for the masterclass just as Serena was. The seven of us were stood outside the Lumiose performing arena, an hour before the masterclass started. The honey haired girl seemed composed, looking forward to show everyone what her and her pokemon had been working on.
On the other hand, Elaine appeared quite nervous. I could tell our conversation yesterday had hit quite close to home. In addition to that, she had the pressure of her enormously large fan base on her shoulders.
Equally, Serena had gained a lot of traction recently. The two performers seemed on par with each other, with the latter developing her skills later in her journey.
"Is everything alright Elaine? You look nervous."
The other five were crowded around Serena, maintaining her high spirits. That left Elaine and I more or less alone, a few feet from the others. The light blonde looked up from the floor into my eyes. She remained silent, not replying to my question.
"You have nothing to worry about. I've seen how hard you and your pokemon have worked, you're going to smash the competition."
Pep talks weren't my strong point but I could tell my words meant a lot. Elaine's lips curled into a smile, now more confident. I doubted she was unsure of her performing abilities, I was more worried about the conversation we had yesterday. Going back to it now wouldn't help so unfortunately for her, I kept my lips sealed.
The two girls had wanted to arrive early but it seemed like every other performer had the same idea. Soon enough, the streets outside of the stadium were densely packed with performers, fans and the media.
The swarm of people parted, making way for a long black limousine. The vehicle's back windows were tinted, hiding the passengers from prying eyes. The limousine came to a halt just in front of the main door, which was were the seven of us were stood.
Quickly, the chauffeur stepped out from the driver's seat, making his way to the back door. As he opened the door, security guards formed a blockade between the coveted passengers and the people who were now going crazy.
From the back door, two people stepped out. A rose red haired girl stepped out, her face beaming with a bright smile. Each of the performers and fans were going crazy at the sight of the girl. I recognised her to be Aria, the current Kalos Queen. From what Elaine and Serena had told me, she would also be participating in the masterclass, performing to defend her title.
Following her, an older woman stepped out. Her short grey hair fell just above her ears, her eyes covered by a thick pair of sunglasses. She seemed to pay little attention to the mess of people around her. In contrast, Aria seemed to love the attention, giving autographs to fans and waving to any camera she saw.
The two people made their way through the front door, the older woman turning her gaze to me then Elaine for more than a moment.
With that, the main doors to the theater were opened up, allowing us in. As soon as we stepped into the building, Serena and Elaine split apart from us, following the other performers to their designated areas. The five of us were lucky enough to arrive first, able to get the best seats, front and centre in the auditorium. We sat patiently, waiting for the masterclass to begin.
