"Finally! There it is, just ahead! Anistar City!"Elaine's words mirrored my excitement as our destination was now in sight. A second wind blew through the air, spurring us on as we completed the final part of our journey. I knew that I didn't want to waste my time by getting distracted by the new city so the two of us headed directly for the gym.
Fortunately, the gym was not closed for the day meaning that we could head straight in, the gym leader in waiting. Confident in my pokemon's training, I knew that we had a good chance at victory here.
Elaine took her seat in the stands, all of her pokemon emerging from their pokeballs, eager to see my pokemon and I take on the renowned Anistar City gym leader.
The gym leader stood at my side of the field, a serious expression on her face worrying me that she would say that the gym would end up closing for the day. Thankfully, however, the assumption was incorrect.
Slowly, the woman standing before me turned to face me, her eyes glowing bright blue. I was a little confused but I remained silent, not wanting to disturb her. While she was silent, the woman's eyes returned to her natural colour, matching her purple-blue hair. Her silvery cloak covered most of her body but as she extended her arms, I could see that the interior design of her cloak matched that of the night sky.
Intrigued by her sense of fashion, hypnotised by what I saw before me.
"Aaron, I have awaited your arrival."
Being a psychic type specialist, I guessed her pokemon began to rub off on her. It was a cool party trick predicting my name but I remained skeptical that her psychic powers extended beyond that.
"Your presence has been eagerly awaited. If you will, come closer."
Hypnotised by her peculiar dialect, I stepped forward, curious to see how she would continue. As I closed the distance between us, the gym leader, Olympia, began to float ever so slightly off the ground, veiled in a faint blue light. Now things were getting interested.
All of a sudden, a huge purple coloured cloud sublimated above the battlefield behind the two of us. I began to think that my earlier doubts were about to be proven wrong.
Just then, an interesting image was projected onto the cloud. A orange dragon pokemon with small wings stood before her trainer whose identity was hidden by a thin layer of smoke. I didn't recognise neither trainer nor pokemon so I kept my mouth shut as Olympia explained.
"The fate of the world as we now it rests on this trainer and his pokemon,
The strength of their bond will be tested as they overcome their greatest challenge yet."Unsure how to react to the sudden change of atmosphere, I remained silent. With everything becoming serious all of a sudden, I felt my body tense and my eyes began to burn ever so slightly. Just as I reached for my eyes, the projection altered slightly. A faint yellow glow could be seen from beneath the veil of smoke.
Feeling uneasy by what was being shown to me, I asked Olympia to explain what she wanted to show me with her projection.
"There is no need to feel uneasy by what you see. You must embrace destiny as it presents itself to you."
Trying to analyse her message, I eventually came to the conclusion that the projection was being aimed toward me in some way. As I opened my mouth to speak up, the projection zoomed out further, two trainers and their pokemon now in picture.
The opposing trainer stood significantly taller than the trainer with the Dragonite, identity also hidden by a layer of smoke. His pokemon was shrouded in a thick cloud, obscuring it completely, but I could sense its sheer power just from seeing how high the cloud stretched to conceal the pokemon.
