Chapter 60

After the encounter with Byakuya and Renji, no one in school could remember who Rukia was. Not long did Ichigo, Orihime, Chad and Uryu disappeared for a few days.

"So, they finally went to the Soul Society..." I said to myself.

I tried to pay attention to class, but only to think about Byakuya's face when Grimmjow and I walked away.

Grimmjow nudged me and had a frown. "Why are you spacing out a lot?"

"It's the Soul Reaper I fought... Grimmjow, I know you're not a human.." I said.

He took in a deep breath before he replied, "Let's talk about this on the way home."

I tried to keep calm about this. But, deep down... I know Aizen will leave the Soul Society soon.

After school, Grimmjow and I were headed home. But...

"Human." Someone said.

Grimmjow and I both turned around to see who it was.

"Byakuya.." I whispered his name.

Grimmjow moved me behind him and glared at the Soul Reaper.

Byakuya was in a giggai and his stare was directed at me.

"What do you want?" Grimmjow asked.

Byakuya closed his eyes, hands in his pocket and said, "I came for the human."

"You're not going to get her." Grimmjow said, as he raised his arm and pointed at Byakuya.

"Hmph. Don't be so foolish. It will be easier on you, if you move out of my way. I only wish to speak with her. I will not take her away." Byakuya told us.

Byakuya is supposed to be in the Soul Society. Did I change a big event?

"Grimmjow, it's okay. Go home without me." I smiled a bit.

He gave me a curious look, but just nods his head and left.

Byakuya started to walk the opposite direction Grimmjow went. I just followed.

"So, why are you here?" I asked, trying to prevent myself from mentioning anything about the Soul Society or Rukia's execution.

We stopped at the park and Byakuya handed me a folder.

"What's this?" I asked, as I took it from him.

"When I encountered you, something did not seem right. You are a deceased Soul Reaper." Byakuya told me.

What?! No way! I didn't hear anything about this before I altered the Grimmjow's death.

I quickly opened the folder and read through the papers. He was right. I was a deceased Soul Reaper. But...

"If I... I'm the..." I paused.

I'm the Hyogoku. Why am I a deceased Soul Reaper?

Aizen told me that I was the fragment of the Hyogoku HE created.

Then I remembered. He obtained the Hyogoku from Rukia.

"Aizen..." I said, as I clenched my fists.

Byakuya just stared at me. He didn't seem surprised that I knew Aizen.

"It was foolish of you..." Byakuya said.

As I was about to look at him, he had smacked me on the back of my head really hard.

"What the hell is yo-" I stopped.

Byakuya smacked me. He just smacked me on the back of my head.

As I stared at him, he gave me a smile.

"Yui and Hakure also spoke to me. Before we arrived to retrieve you." Byakuya told me.

"So, you acted out our first encounter...?" I asked.

He nods his head and stared at the papers I held.

"Aizen was the one who did this to you. I did not realize it at first. Before Momo Hinamori, Aizen had a previous Lieutenant that he chose himself. She was mysterious and always wore a hood. One night, his Lieutenant vanished into thin air. No one knew who she was. But, I have spoken to her a few times. She never once told me her name. All  remember, was that she had the most beautiful light blue hair..." Byakuya paused.

He touched my hair and pulled me close to him. "Her scent..."

Did Byakuya loved the previous me...?

I suddenly felt it. My heart beating fast.

He lifted my chin up to face him and he stared deep into my eyes. His face moving closer to mine.

"Byakuya!" Someone yelled.

Byakuya stopped and we turned around.

Ichigo, Orihime, Rukia and Uryu were running toward us.

This confused me so much...

"Aizen already got away, earlier than it should have happened." Byakuya told me.

The four stopped in front of us and tried to catch their breath.

Orihime quickly bowed. "I'm sorry that we disturbed you both. I didn't know that you liked Blossom, or that you knew her."

Ichigo looked away and crossed his arms. "Unexpected..."

"You're not jealous, are you?" Rukia joked.

Ichigo's answer caused everyone to look at him.

"What do you think? Byakuya, you stabbed her!" Ichigo yelled.

That's true, he did. But, it wasn't lethal. Although... I'm confused...
