Chapter 21

Byakuya opened the door to his room and I walked in after him.

He hasn't said a word.

I closed the door and let out a soft sigh. "Byakuya, aren't you worried?"

He turned to face me . "It is Rukia's own doing. Not mine. She deserved this punishment."

"Byakuya, that's your sister. You should be lucky to have a sister! Unlike you, I don't have a family. I'm not from a noble family either. I live alone..." I told him.

It took Byakuya a while to come up with a reply. "You live alone?"

I rolled my eyes and stomped my foot. "Grr... You're just... So hard to talk to!" I yelled as I walked towards Byakuya and glared at him.

I just wanted to slap him. He doesn't care about Rukia at all! He changes the topic a lot.

Byakuya just stared at me and I noticed how his stare looked...  A bit soft. Not a glare, not normal.. He then touched my face.

"You need to learn how to mind your own business." He spoke, his voice was calm.

I watched as his face leaned closer to mine. Our lips were inches apart. I felt my heart beating fast, I felt his breath.

He closed his eyes and moved closer, but I  had placed my hand between our lips. "Really? A captain trying to make a move?" I asked.

Byakuya opened his eyes  and moved back. "How is it that Captain Sousuke..." He paused and turned to walk to his desk.

"How Aizen got the girl? Simple, first... You threatened to kill my friend if I refused to go with you, smack me on the head multiple times and you don't care for your sister. What's attractive about that?" I explained.

I walked towards him and sat on the edge of his desk. 

Byakuya glanced at me and had a small smile. "You are a strange human."

Seeing Byakuya smile, made me smile as well. Even if his smile was small, it was enough to make me happy.

"Aren't you going to rest?" I asked.

He closed his eyes and his smile disappeared. "So you can run off again?" He asked.

"Hmm... Well, you did say you will let me see Ichigo again. I hear your words as a promise. But, if you don't let me see him. Everytime I am stuck with you, I will run away." I told him. my smile still remaining.

Byakuya trying to kiss me was a bit of a shock. But, I'm sure it was just a tease. Then again, the only tease he did was smack my head.

"Blossom, I do realize that you have not eaten a single thing ever since Captain Sousuke passed. Would you... Like to go out to eat?" Byakuya asked.

He didn't look at me. He still had his eyes closed. "Of course. Stop being so over-protectively being so obsessed with me. I can tell you are." I laughed.

Byakuya and I left his room, only to bump into Ichimaru. "You're Captain Ichimaru.."

"Now, now. Don't be so formal with me. Just call me, Gin." He said with a grin.

Byakuya moved me behind him. "And to what do we owe such visit of yours?" Byakuya asked him.

Gin faced Byakuya and did a thinking posture. "Ah, yes. I was supposed to meet up with Captain Tousen. He and I have a very important matter to discuss, regarding our fallen Captain Sousuke."

I looked down and didn't bother to say anything. I felt something bad in Gin, something so evil. His smirk, his voice...

"Well, I will be seeing you two love birds around." Gin suddenly said, as he passed by Byakuya and me.

We started to walk, but I heard that Gin had stopped walking. "By the way, Blossom?"

I stopped walking and so did Byakuya. I turned to face Gin, he had his back turned. "Yes?"

"If your dear Aizen, were to see you in another man's arms... I'm pretty sure he'd be oh-so disappointed  in you. He had such high hopes for you." Gin said.

I clenched my fists and raised my arms towards Gin. "Wrap..."

Byakuya's eyes widened. "Blossom don-"

"Yui!" I yelled.

My ribbons extended and attacked Gin. In the end of the ribbons were blades. But, Gin raised his sword. Or as they call their swords, Zanpakuto's and blocked the attack.

"My, a human who can use a Zanpakuto? How strange."Gin said, he had a grin.
