Leo x Nyx Angst

Sorry if I'm bad at angst, but here's what you requested over on Amino.

Nyx could feel the change in the air. She couldn't explain it, and didn't want to try again.

The last time she did, in her hometown, people just scoffed at her or ran away from her, the Child of the Devil.

So instead of warning the others, she stayed in her room all day, hands over her ears, waiting for the noises in her head to stop.

Instead of stopping, however, the sounds of destruction grew louder and louder until they no longer sounded like they were in her head… maybe just outside.

She grabbed her Thunder time from beside her bed, running outside to find one of her worst nightmares.

A small army of Valite soldiers were inside of the camp, attacking anyone in their way. She could already see a few people on the ground wounded, or worse…

She shook her head, readying an attack. Under her breath, she muttered, "So this is the change? Pathetic."

An arm firmly grasped her shoulder and she gasped, almost attacking the perpetrator.

"Leo?"

He was glaring at her and breathing heavily.

"You knew? Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because the last time I tried to help people in a situation like this, they refused to listen. Nothing happened, anyway, and I thought this time would be the same!"

Leo's glare softened, and he released her shoulder.

"Alright. But next time, you'll say if you know something's happening, yeah?"

Before Nyx could answer him, Leo grabbed her shoulder again and yanked her towards him, out of the way of a volley of arrows.

Nyx pulled out of his grasp and readied a new attack, turning away from him.

"I'll take him. Go."

Leo nodded, running off to, most likely, assist people in another area. Nyx shot her spell at the archer, effectively taking him down.

After a while of non-stop fighting, it looked as though Corrin's army was going to get away with no casualties.

But Nyx couldn't hear her friends yelling at her, especially after she was skewered with a sword.

"Nyx!"

Leo ran over and shot a spell from Bryinhylder, taking the swordsman down.

But the damage was done. Nyx could feel her life slipping away, even through her curse.

Leo cradled her head, and Nyx could faintly hear him calling for a healer.

"Nyx? Nyx! Please stay with me! I love you, I can't afford to lose you too!"

Nyx sighed, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

"Leo."

He shot upright, trying to wipe away his tears. "The healers are on their way, just please stay with me!"

Nyx's head rolled to the side slightly, and she whispered, "Don't love me, I'm a monster. Save it for someone more deserving, someone alive. I love you too, Lord Leo."

Her eyes closed, and the last thing she heard was Leo's anguished scream.
