Lifting the cookie to your mouth, you savored it's sweetness. It wasn't often that you had enough time off to enjoy eating sweets like this.
Gently munching, you stopped when you heard a noise outside.
Numerous noises.
All evenly spaced before they stopped outside the kitchen door.
Footsteps.
...Damnit.
You pulled the box of cookies closer to you. If your boyfriend, the high Prince of Hoshido, found you with your supply, he'd most likely confiscate them.
The door creaked open, and you slid further into your corner. If Ryoma got the cookies again, you'd never be able to reach them!
Quiet footsteps circled the main part of the kitchen, missing your place behind the door.
The steps began to retreat, and you let out a sigh of relief.
Big mistake.
Ryoma leapt over the counter, landing in front of you. Before you could say anything, he grabbed the cookies from you, holding them above his head.
You stood up, jumping to try to retrieve your snacks.
"Noooooo!"
He set the cookies on the top shelf, ruffling your hair.
"You're not dying to sugar, darling. Eat something healthy, like Brussels Sprouts."
You wrinkled your nose, still jumping. "I eat yummy food, not those bitter monstrosities."
He chuckled, lifting you up. "Not on my watch."
