SOTC: The Night We Met by Lord Huron

-A week passed (12 am)-

Me and Robin were running around town and playing at the park until my mom calls me. "Honey?" "Uh...Hello?" I said.  "ah, Robin! I'm on the phone Bun" I said as Robin hugs me from behind. "y/n? You haven't been home for more than a week. Please come home darling" I didn't really hear her. Robin was chasing me around the playground and when he would catch me he would hug me and kiss me on the cheek. "I uh...what?" I asked. "Come home" "Mom, I'm my own person.  I'm turning 18 next week. I could take care of myself. Just go take care of Alex and Amber." I said while sitting on the swings. "y/n I and your father are worried. You've been running around with that Robin boy. He's 18 y/n. It's illegal, we could call the police." Mum said in a serious voice. "Mum, stop. Robin was 17 when we met he turned 18 in December, it's now October, it has been a whole year. If you were to call the police you would have done it a long time ago." I said while looking at the ground. "Please y/n? Just come home." She said. I could hear that she was crying. I looked at Robin, he stuck out his hand for me to grab. "Come on, I'll take you home." I grabbed his hand. "Fine mum," I said while I hung up.

Me and Robin got on his bike"Can I take you somewhere first?" Robin asked. "of course," I said while hugging him from the back so I don't fall off the bike. It was about 5 minutes when I noticed we were in front of the cafe shop were first met.  "I asked if they could open it early," Robin said while parking his bike. "Here," Robin said while handing me a book. The book that I was reading when we met. "It had to be you. The book I was reading. How did you remember the title?" I asked while I flipped through the pages. "How could I forget?" he said while opening the door for me.

"Do you remember how we met?" Robin asked me while he got a single cup of tea and sat down in the table we met in."How could I forget?" I said while opening the book and going in front of the counter waiting for my coffee

 -Flashback-

Then he got up and bumped into me. I dropped my book, he quickly picked it up. "Uh, sorry," he said as he handed me my book and quickly grabbed some sugar. I grabbed my coffee and went to go sit across from him. I silently sit across from the redheaded boy when I caught him looking at me. I could tell that he was shocked. "Um...Hi?" He said "Hi," I said while turning the page. I couldn't help but smile. "What are you reading?" He asked. "It had to be you, it's about a father that allows his daughter to temporarily inherit a football team. She was raped as a young girl and her fear of men has caused her to act in the order to control men at arms distance. The so-called, hero is the coach of the team and he was looking for a woman to have a family with. At first, he thinks she is outrageous and empty-headed but he later discovers that she is a beautiful, witty, and tender woman." I said while still looking down at my book. "Seems interesting. I'm Robin but you could call me Robbie." He said while reaching his hand out for me to shake. "I'm y/n," I said while shaking his hand. I put down my book. "um...my sister talks about a guy named Robbie. He's like a singer or something." I said while smiling. "Oh really? What a weird coincidence." Robin said while looking me in the eyes. His soft brown eyes and a beautiful smile. I looked down to stop myself.

-Present time-

"well um, what are you doing here on a Saturday morning? Do you not have plans with friends?" I asked. "Oh well, I'm actually on a date with my very beautiful girlfriend," Robin said while pulling out his phone. "See? Isn't she beautiful?" Robbin said while showing me a picture of us.

I could feel my cheeks blushing. I put my hands on my face to hide the fact that I am blushing and smiling like a big goof. "Oh my god!" I said while laughing "Your laugh is so beautiful" Robin said while looking at me like I was everything at that moment.  I loved the way he looks at me. It made me feel like I was completely safe and loved.

Was I being selfish? I could feel my heart pounding. Or maybe this is what you feel when you're in love? I feel happy like I am floating on clouds and my heart feels like it's going to pound out of my chest.

Robin got up out of his chair and put on the song The Night We Met by Lord Huron on. "Want to dance?" Robin asked me. "Of course," I said with a smile. Me and Robin slowly danced around the cafe as the song slowly played

Robin slowly lifted my head up from his chest. "I love you." I completely froze. "Oh, uh..." I started to say "You don't have to say it back." Robin said while slowly starting to dance again.

I knew I loved Robin but I just couldn't say it. It was close to about 2 am so we started to go back to my house.

"Bye Robin. Thank you so much for tonight" I said while kissing him on the lips. His face was hot and red. The thought of Robin blushing made me smile. "Bye, y/n. Get some rest" Robin said while riding his bike away.

I walk in my house with a smile on my face and slowly close the door. I start walking upstairs to my room when the kitchen light turned on. "Hello?" I said while taking my shoes off by the staircase then walking towards the kitchen.

"Hey," Amber said. "What are you doing up?" I asked as I grab a glass of water. "I just wanted an apple." She said while walking passed me. "Goodnight,"Amber said. I set my glass on the table.

I went upstairs and changed to go to sleep. My mind was racing with thoughts about Robin. I put on The Night We Met to just relive that beautiful moment. I went to sleep with the joy of having Robin as my boyfriend.
