The next day at the Mansion of the Inquisition. Jingks is sitting down in the wooden chair where Paladin would always sit in the Library of Cesar, with a stack of books next to him, and with Cameryn sitting down next to him, fully focusing on the book she was reading. As Jingks finishes the book he is reading, he closes the book and sighs, putting it down on a different stack of books next to him on the floor.
"You're finished with that book?" she asked.
Jingks nodded his head, and he turned to look at Cameryn whom had her eyes still looking at the book in front of her.
"Yeah, I did. It took me a little bit, but it was faster to finish than the one I was reading last night."
"Did you learn anything from that book?" she asked.
"No, not really. I learned how a few things worked, but still no progress on learning any relevant new things," replied Jingks.
Cameryn closed the book she was holding, putting the book down on her lap. She then turned to look at Jingks.
"You didn't learn anything attack spell wise?"
"Nope," Jingks said as he shook his head. "Time Magic isn't like most magic, it isn't divided into the three categories of Attack, Defense, and Miscellaneous. According to the books you have given me, Time Magic is instead divided into different types of shifting categories."
"I assume that you will explain to me what the categories are?"
"Sure. The three shifting categories are Object or Objects shifting, Person shifting, and Environment shifting," Jingks explained.
"What are the differences between the three categories?" Cameryn asked.
"Object or Objects shifting deals with Objects and where they are and were. Basically, the object can be moved based on where they currently are and where they were previously. People shifting is essentially the same thing, but you are of course dealing with a living person, not an object. Environment shifting is different however. Environment shifting can change an environment, which includes objects and people, and make them move to where they were previously or it can make them move to where they will be in the near future," Jingks explained.
"Interesting, I'll admit that you were correct in saying that Time Magic isn't like any other type of magic. Out of curiosity. How far into the future, or the past, can an object be moved?" Cameryn asked.
"From what I've read, it depends. It all really depends on the magic caster, and how powerful they are. If they are dealing with an environment, person, or object that is powerful or more powerful than them, then probably not far."
"So it essentially follows the base rule of magic--"
"What is the base rule of magic?" Jingks asked.
"The base rule of magic is this. The strength of your magicka and how much you have will determine how strong your magic is, and how long you will be able to keep it going on. But, clearly Time Magic is a lot stranger than the other many types. It is unique in its own way, not really close to any other types. I assume you would have to use Time Magic as part of your fighting style, but not all of it," Cameryn explained.
"Yeah--" Jingks shrugged his shoulders. "Since it doesn't work like any other type of magic really, I would need to use sword fighting in combat a lot more than an actual mage."
"Clearly," Cameryn replied.
As Cameryn finished speaking, the two of them then turn their heads to look over at the door. The door opened, and coming through the door was Highclere, who left the door open from behind him.
