6. His Confession

"You were walking on the street, weren't you? The other night? You were drenched in the rain, yet you had that umbrella in your hand. I wasn't sure what kind of logic that was, though." Piper continues.

Jimin finally exhales once again. He wipes his wet tears away, in a way without seeking her attention. He sweated so much that his bangs got swirled with each other. "Yes, I was. Where were you, when you saw me? " Jimin tries to be calm and questions her.

"I had just got off the bus and started walking to my house" she replied.

Jimin just kept silent, thinking why she had come to his house. There must have been a cause, he thought. He wanted the reason to be neither that she had come there to make him confront whatever he did nor that she had already called the cops to put him behind the bars. Whatever the reason maybe, he had to face it sooner or later.

"Okay, but why are you here?", words finally escaped through his mouth. It was neither, The reason was neither.

She replied to him, "There happened a theft at my --" Jimin's ears and nose turn to pink, The only thing he could see was tears again blurring his vision as it filled up, but still he tries to hold it back from falling down. "There happened a theft at my house and I wanted someone to help me find who's the thief.. I wasn't sure who to trust, so I came here."

Jimin queries her doubtfully, "Why me, but not Hoseok?". "We broke up", she replied. Her reply gets him in a shocked state, but his cold heart feels warm somehow, for some reason.

So, it was true?, she really didn't tell anyone about the theft but me?

The weight on his shoulders kept increasing. Jimin goes as silent as the sky. Dozens of things fills up his mind. But then he finally opens his mouth, "Please don't get me wrong but, I think I know who the thief is".

What is he trying? to put himself in prison?
